- The shift from 3D to live2D
- Streaming became more popular but prerecorded and edited videos were still a big part of vtuber content
- Vtuber designs had a lot more variety
- Indies started having a foothold in the market which to that point was dominated by corpo-backed vtubers
- Birth of vtuber agencies

Vtubing right now is just a stagnating mess. All content is the same. All designs are the same. No new ideas coming in. You won't get any visibility unless you debut in a big corpo. Vtubers don't make things happen with their own power anymore and just prefer to throw money around to create content that is all style and no substance.
There's just no originality anymore. The golden age is gone.
