Yes I need it to be compatible with style loras since playing around with them is the main thing I do, but aside from that I'm looking for something with a style I like that isn't as janky as AWpainting. I'm looking for stuff that doesn't have flat shading, with shiny and soft-looking skin, the kind that gives a good squish, I don't like how rigid the skin tends to look in quite a lot of models. Also being able to make lolis would be a pretty nice plus.

Updated Mikeneko's spot to reflect her new agency and fixed some tag errors made in millie's section (was missing her bell tag and her skirt kept going teal so color was specified)

LoRAs, definitely the newer models which have much better quality than back then, the new upscale extensions (ultimate upscaler, multi-diffusion, and better ways of using the hi-res upscalers), the region prompting (for multi-chara gens).
That's to start, after you have newer merging techniques once you get to that.

Hands are a cross between just better models now and selective posting kek.
Webui 1.6 is definitely a big improvement so I recommend updating if you can.

other than controlnet, there are new samplers, modifiers like perp-neg, FreeU

there are also improved negative embeddings and LoRAs that help with quality, hands, feet, especially ones that has minimal effect on style

There are some lora/lyco that help control concepts like chroma, lighting, expression, gloss

character/pose/style loras are much more common now, so "there's a lora/lyco for that" is applicable for more scenarios

I didn't think this would be so popular. I am trying to find better lora training settings but I am limited to using colab because AMD. I think AdamW8bit with the settings I had might have been too aggressive with the learning rate. I am trying to swap to something that is adaptive, but I keep getting either out of memory errors or NaN loss with Dadaptation. Maybe AdaFactor will work better. Still testing.

No. Verbose descriptions are terrible for token count.
We do need a new system (I've been saying this since NAI leak) but it needs to follow the same concept as Danbooru tags.
What we need is a powerful automatic tagging system, then run that on the whole database of man made anime images, then train models off that.
And also to fix the issue with multi-word prompts, that's a killer.

No. It's good, but not good enough to surpass Danbooru tags yet. It also only runs off those, we need more and more precise tags.
Danbooru has issues with some tags being far too generic or misused.
You'd need it to be able to recognise what it can auto tag correctly and what it has trouble with.
Then you take the images it had trouble with and crowd source tagging for those, which would hopefully just be a few tens of thousands of images.

It's somewhat fixable. I can train on each image twice: one with old tags, one with new descriptions. Can ask it to generate shorter descriptions or use something like token_lenght 300 with clip skip 1
I'll try retagging few thousand images like this and making something. It will be bad, but trying to prompt "possibly a cat" yukimins and "possibly an elf" Flare should be fun.
