The worldbuilding thread was pretty much doomed as soon as the first setting started to grow stale and full and the next step was to make multiple, more independent settings based on the whims of builders.
/wg/ is about stories, a mainstay throughout eras and cultures that will always have their audience. By contrast, not many want to read someone's unfinished worldbuilding project and their builders tend to abandon them, because they are long and don't really go anywhere.
Worldbuilding was only ever meant to be an auxiliary craft, to supplement stories and games (or made-up languages, in good ol' Tolkien's case).
But since it's relatively easy (especially you focus on going broad rather than deep) if you do it in isolation and allows you to incorporate whatever science or other field of study you like, many nerds spend a lot of time on it. Which is fine, but it will feel hollow if it's not accompanied by something set in that world.

I think I found a flaw in the hard archive, since pekofag did his mass-unlisting of his fics they're no longer archived by the script, and since the hard archive no longer does 404 since last archiving they're kind of in a weird limbo state where the files still exist, and the hard archive is ironically following his wishes to no longer be archived... but it feels weirdly counter to the actual purpose of the hard archive given that it was originally meant to be a measure against menhera authors deleting their fics off of the archive for preservation.

What stories in the archive are canonically set in the same universe? I know there was the HF and HC crossover, an Our Cures cameo in Deal with the Devil and a CH easer in HF. Am I missing any? And do fan spinoffs or brief references/mentions also count?

Hmm, can you give the list? I still see Bunny Trap there, but comparing the Jan files with the recent ones, Blowing off Stellar Steam for example is missing from the latest index file, but the file itself IS still in the Stories folder:

This is because the Index file is dynamically generated based on what's in the Rentry archives for both stories and series, not so much what's already saved in the folder. I copy the Stories folder over (to avoid unnecessarily downloading the file each time it runs) but the Index file is regenerated every time it runs, so if an entry was manually removed from the Archive, the process doesn't know to check for it.

I could simply do an incremental copy from the last story archived each time, but the issue with this is AA will often organize sequels just below the first chapter, so any sequels that aren't a series per se would be missing from the subsequent archive, so that's not a great solution. Maybe I can research a way to do a diff merge where the previous archive's file has entries added onto it instead of always using the most current list of stories from the archive - will probably break the story listing, but should take care of this problem. I'll look into that.

Ok, what I did is run a routine to compare the previous archive's story listing against the current one's, extract any entries that were missing and merge into the current list. They're not in order, but at least they are added back in the list.

I have updated the file in the Mega, added the new log file and fixed The Scent of Lavender's link so now it should be properly archived.

Honestly, sometimes, I feel like I write too much. Like, in my experience, there comes a certain point in the day where you stop producing anything that's actually 'good'; whatever comes out beyond that point is either too troublesome to edit (gotta throw it away), or doesn't really fit the rest of the story at all (at least then it's salvageable somewhat in the future, maybe). I can definitely see where you're coming from. There would be ways to set up another spanking scenario inside this kind of relationship through mitigating factors (making Ayame tougher, skipping ahead, reducing the severity...).
I just have other BDSM practices in mind that I want to include before going back to spanking, and I've set up a trajectory for the characters and the evening that doesn't quite fit with your idea. For example, Ayame's deal is that she failed you because she forgot her task - if she now also fails you despite trying her best she'd look incompetent, and if your main contribution in the story was that you beat on her ass repeatedly you'd look uncreative, maybe even brutish.
That said, if you just enjoy spanking a lot it would have been possible to set the story up in a way that makes repeating it work - it's not a bad idea per se.
