Ok. Full disclaimer is that I haven't tested this final version of the script. I tested an earlier version to verify that it would catch an active streamer and initiate the archival process, but since then the script was modified in two extra ways:
1: provide a way to access members only streams if you're a member (I can't test this since I'm a filthy casual who isn't anyone's member)
2: Added some logic to write the title of the most recent stream to a file so that the scheduled task won't accidentally save the stream multiple times. The code looks sound to me when I read it, but it's late and I'm too lazy to fully test that bit out. My apologies for the laziness but in my defense I'm doing this for free.

The pre-requisite is that you'll need to use a google account to setup a project in the "Google Developer Console" and then enable the "YouTube Data Api", and then go into credentials to get an API key. This will take some poking around but it shouldn't be too hard for you to figure out.

you can test it by calling this script in a powershell window. As a heads up, by default windows is secured in such a way that your user account won't have permission to execute scripts in powershell. You'll need to run some commands to give yourself permission to run scripts. I don't recall the commands off the top of my head but some googling of whatever error message that you innevitably receive should clear it up.

Then you can use something called "scheduled tasks" to periodically run the script several times throughout the day. This is done in windows "Task Scheduler". Some googling should help you navigate the menus.

Final disclaimer is that in general terms you shouldn't execute scripts that you don't understand from sources that you don't trust, and as an anonymous person on the internet my word doesn't really have any weight. As best practice you should try to understand each line of the script before running it.

If the script is too hard to understand, you could try signing up with chatGpt and asking it some questions about writing a powershell script. That's how this script was produced and it will probably produce something similar for you, and the chatGPT algorithm's outputs are arguably more trustworthy than an anon.

I just wanted to try to give that anon a solution. It's not necessarily the easiest or best solution. The one advantage to the script from chatGPT is that the user wouldn't need any knowledge of the streamer's schedule.
