Hmmm how do I say this... Skye used to feel like she always collabing with chat, not pandering to it. She could talk for hours but she always bounce from topic to topic with chats help in a smooth way that made it fun to see her do anything really. SkyeStaions were fun cause it was an interactive segment focused on a topic that had points to jump off of without worring about getting back to the game. Geared Up for You was the story she made but also had a BTS segement after that had some fun back and forth made up lore as it went on. Steph was the sex persona yeah but her first stream was a voice acting stream that had Skye trying a bunch of diffrent kinds of scripts that could also turn into new characters and voices. PH milkies was a bait tierlist stream but instead of just calling it a day after rating some milk she kinda just went on talking about food in gereral and asking chat what the wierdest kinds of foods they had for like 2 hours. Her chat interaction was peak for me and at one point I was wondering why she played games at all since she was frustrated most of the time playing them or dropped them after one stream anyways. Now Skye interacts with chat about 3 things and nothing more. Even when we get a little bit of shifting to talking about something else it goes back to mechs, teasing her, or "check the discord". The advice zatsu was the last time I felt like I was watching old Skye and even though I'm watching some girls now that zatsu really well, I still dont think they have the same flow Skye used to "alone".

Additionally, while there have been less Skye Stations, there's also been more collabs, something she struggled to do. I'm just having less fun watching Skye more than usual so the 15k thing on top of this week's schedule was more of the straw that broke the camels back. Her collabs are great and I'm really glad she's doing better mentally, its more that Skye isn't exactly for me anymore. I was worried about how she seemed when she came back, but she has honestly seemed like she's way happier now. It feels bittersweet because just taking what you said for example, there's people who enjoyed watching "old Skye", and don't like "new Skye", but her current self, of her own admission, is more of her real self. It's unfortunate that it ended up this way, but it is what it is.

Personally, I have really been enjoying watching Skye lately, aside from the excess of AC6. The member movie watch along was great content too, but I wasn't very happy with the ASMR since it felt like a select one or two people really heavily dominated the direction of it.

I also don't like the heavy discord integration. Never did, never will. I used to spend way too much time on there because I hated feeling like something might happen that I was going to miss. FOMO is unironically debilitating. I would just wonder where the time went and I could never get anything done because I was always making sure to divert more attention to it than I needed to. NTA, but I also had a rant about this a week ago here and I have the same feelings as that anon about Skye currently. I'm on vacation so for the past week I have been watching some pre-break vods. The feeling I got is that she is playing it safe. She used to experiment, talk about anything and everything that came to her mind, she used to actually fight chat. Now she sticks to a few safe choices of topics, either that were talked abut before, talked about in discord, management shit or just things that are generally things that are safe (but boring). She also seems to roll over at the slightest hint of... well anything. She should unironically do a smolryu stream and go off on people.

But the biggest difference I see is her stream choices. She used to take wild swings if she thought it would entertain people. Now its exclusively streams that are on a path so beaten that it is practically beneath ground. If its not gaming stream, its a stream that every other vtuber under the sun has done. The stream that was most out there was a fucking maid RP. maid fucking rp. As one anon told me on my last rant, literally default settings vtuber.
To contrast that, my favorite stream of hers, geared up for you is such a wild thing that could have backfired so fucking hard. The concept of her roleplaying as the only 3 people in a shitty telenovela could have been the most cringe shit ever, but her charm made it truly kino. Wild swing and an amazing hit. Other streams were also closer to that than the "default settings"

And just to wrap it up, I'm a yuro. I used to get up at 4am to watch her streams. Currently her silent hill stream from yesterday is paused at 16 minutes and has been for the last 20 hours. It just doesn't hit the same when the moment a topic is started I can tell exactly how the next 3 minutes will play out.

I'm glad if she is having fun, I'm glad if people are having fun, but I want to put out my thoughts somewhere and get other peoples input in a place where she (hopefully) won't see it. As other anon said, I don't want to shit on her just because she chose to take a different path.

One thought I had while writing that whole post is "you can't have peaks without valleys." She chose to go the middle way with no peaks and no valleys. I have nothing against that. I'm genuinely happy for her if she is indeed happy with it, but she used to be my oshi because I was there for the wild ride she would take me on. This is just a leisurely stroll that some people prefer. I don't.
