I know it was already planned before but I don't like it when holos try to do other things on the side. I've seen how that can end and I've seen how it can affect their focus and how they'll be unable to give 100% to either side.
It just ends up creating an atmosphere where you know they could do more, but they don't because they're also trying to be successful elsewhere. Not to mention you create a difference between "normal" and "true" fans and you then get all the "hehe I have the secret knowledge" kind of fags.

Better to just focus on Hololive alone and go all out with that.

To clarify why I think Mother 1 is awful, the level up system is about the worst you could possibly have for an RPG - the stats you gain on level up are random, and if you're unlucky you can just roll 0 every time. You gotta reset the game (or load savestate) to roll good stats.
I think thematically Mother 3 makes the most sense for them to play, but 2 is fine too.
