Everyone does love burgers though. That's why they sell them in literally every country on the planet. They even make the damned things out of onions so that vegans, who are fundamentally opposed to the basic idea of what a burger is, can somehow pretend to eat burgers. Disliking burgers-- not being indifferent but actively disliking them-- is statistically more unlikely than liking them.

Burgers aren't pagpag so most of the subhuman Southeast Asian posters won't like them. Hell, you could take half this board out to a five star restaurant and they'll embarrass you by eating out of the garbage and trying to shit in the floor.

>> No.59353008

If I'm getting fast food, I wouldn't even consider looking at the burgers. Depending on what's in it, I just don't like the mess that comes with them. So I feel like any urges I'd have had for anything burger-like got just transferred over to wraps instead.

>> No.59355556

As far back as there are recipes for meatballs, probably since the invention of ground meat. I'm talking dawn of humanity, after neolithic agriculture but the end of the bronze age. Imagine this: you're a young man in bronze age Mesopotamia. Mom comes back from market with a basket full of ground goat meat. She chops some herbs, spices, mixes it, rolls it into meatballs, fries em up in fat. You grab some bread, cut it open, put the meatball in it so you can eat it just as soon as possible. Bam, ancient proto-"hamburger". The history of the hamburger is the history of mankind. Oh, and, honestly, probably pretty good, depending on the meat and spices.

The typical burger bun is just regular white bread. If you don't like that, that's understandable.
But burgers can have various kinds of buns. Wheat, pretzel, croissant, Texas Toast, sourdough, I've even had one that used a tortilla as a bun. Not to mention the various additions that can be baked into the bun, like cheeses, peppers, onions, etc.

Nta, but it’s just food that you can modify literally however you want. It’s also not accurately representing how much people actually like it because it’s such an economic food, it’s easy to make, has a very varied taste and ingredients, is quick to eat, you can sell it anywhere and quickly make a profit.
Basically, if you marketed most foods that many people locally like, you could also make it appreciated worldwide

The best thing about making hamburgers is knowing that SEA Monkeys don't know how to. And it's important to make hamburgers to remind SEA Monkeys that they aren't allowed to have anything good in life. They're allowed to have gritty rice and half rotten vegetables. And food from the garbage they call pagpag. And that's, you know, pretty much it. Hey, now here's a nice hamburger! Not a SEA monkey would know!

America was the first country to get rich enough to and also feel the need to try and spread its culture everywhere (because of the Cold War). So yes, if there’s one global junk food that catches on, it’s probably going to be an American one.
But burgers are also fucking good, and it’s not propaganda brainwashing you if you’re not American and like them too. If Turkey became the global superpower we’d all like kebabs, but Americans would also still like burgers. People just like meat in bread.

I never got this because my parents were immigrants and I left the country all the time to see family. People never treated me like an annoying American and I assumed it was because I wasn’t white (even though it was super obvious I was American once I opened my mouth).
Turns out, I’m also the kind of person to look up the history of wherever I’m visiting once I get to the hotel. And apparently, I’m also the kind of person to reply with, “Oh, Nkrumah!” when I find out someone is from Ghana. I don’t think I’m the typical American tourist. That’s not a brag, I’m just that autistic that I didn’t realize most Americans don’t do that.
