Overall sales didn’t increase from the previous period as well meaning not even direct sales due to increased mindshare was a result.

For big companies (like perfum companies) spreading their mindshare is worth the price: when you get into a perfum store there are thousands but the six or seven you sample to make your choice are the ones that spam ads everywhere.
For regular companies selling products that are bought when needed (as opposed to impulse shopping or vanity shopping) online ads and digital marketing is exactly the same as
