Ohh, that's a cool origin story. Get turned insane by Bijou->Get soul harvested->Get put in a rock. Nice life cycle for the Pebble.
Also makes it make sense that she'd get jailed for it, out of context this is a pretty malicious process.
I guess you can interpret this as Bijou's powers amplifying the emotions of humans to the point of insanity, and then being turned to stone deadens them back to a reasonable level.
Nice drawings too, very immersive.
