There's a good chance that someone has and can reupload pretty much anything that has been posted here in the past, even if the original link is dead. The problem going forward with our main archiver MIA is random streams that get privated with little to no warning. Unless we've got people able to cover auto-archiving every channel, there will always be a threat to things disappearing. Unfortunately, that is a huge undertaking...

It is less the time/dedication and more the hardware. You need a computer running 24/7 with stable internet and a lot of storage space. Even going back and replacing the VODs that stay up with smaller files, doing it for every boy would eat up space fast. I'd have to set up my old desktop and buy a shit ton of storage to even attempt it, and I'm not sure my internet could handle it when it sometimes fucks up ones I grab manually...Rather than having one doing it for every boy, we really need several grabbing a few channels, potentially with some overlaps if something goes wrong.

Your last idea was something I was thinking about too, I do archive every vox asmr, but my biggest blindspot is getting them live in case they get immediately nuked due to me being in the wagie cage. Throwing the op archive link around in fan circles could help a ton with that. More awareness in archiving being a central part of the vtubing experience is key.

More archivers, whether /here/ or not, is always a good thing. Pretty sure we've found things like Luca's nuked VODs from the music thing on b2 after thinking they were gone forever. I've seen some Twitter Kindred sharing that archive around for Vox's ASMRs, so it's good to always be prepared just in case

Just want to put it out there that even if you can't write, draw, program games, sing, etc., you can still show your love to your oshi by archiving your favorite streams of theirs and sharing it with others for the future in case the worst occurs. As long as you have even the shittiest 10gb usb stick lying around, you too can help with preserving your oshi's history.

I do feel an annoying sense of loss about those VODs the more I think about it. Vox does and will always have the right to do what he wants with his content, but I remember when he did say he enjoyed doing the nsfw stuff because there was an audience for it that typically was ignored. Things change, but the sort of malaise I felt when he announced he wasn't doing that brand of asmr anymore had settled down, and now it's flared up again.
