I can stream 4-6 hours of pure zatsudan (keep in mind 90% of that time i have to talk to myself), about 8-10 hours of regular gaming (with relatively high energy) and 18-24 hours of endurance gaming with relatively medium energy. The perfectionist in me refuses to move on and make any real progress until I nail the design and feel totally happy with it. I still need to do some more work on the jacket and some other things, too. Once I get the design how I want it making the 3D model and doing all the rigging and blend shapes won't be much of an issue.

I want to make my own model but I suck at art. I bought a book to help me practice traditionally with a pencil, but would that even translate well to digital art? Should I just skip straight to trying to draw digital? I don't like the idea of spending a lot of money to buy a model and have it rigged since its expensive. I was thinking of starting as a PNG and testing the waters with a particular niche.

Is Twitch still the recommended starter site for streaming? I know it says it on the topic title but I hate the idea of my work disappearing into the void after awhile. I also have ideas for videos, though I need to learn how to use VideoPad.

Definitely make your own model, to start. Getting some practice streaming and seeing if you like it is important. Do that before you think about spending any money.
In my opinion Twitch is far better than YouTube for streaming. It's unlikely you'll be discovered on YouTube, and there's not much of a streamer community. On Twitch it's easier to network and you can get discovered on your own in a predictable way if you play the category pages right. If you're serious about growing you should also have a YouTube channel for clips and highlights, though.

You're unlikely to get noticed by youtube unless you know how to game the algorithm, so twitch is always the starter point for streamers as networking is your bread and butter even after you get yourself an audience
As for the model. You can always take a pic of your drawing and make it into a png vtuber. Might even be SOVL-full depending on how you do it.

Here's an idea for vtubers:
Turn on a gameplay stream you did in the past, and watch the gameplay with chat, and use the gameplay (the gameplay you previously recorded) to write a story for a play, or a skit.
The skit, or play can be later on performed on one of your streams with you, and your mutuals performing in the play, and showing that you're capable of doing more than Vinny coded content as the bread, and butter of your stream. It could show that vtubers would make excellent voice actors, and are good for more than blogging while playing video games that they aren't very good at often for the first time.
By performing in a play you created you show that not only you are capable of flexing acting skills, but so is the company you keep. That, and if you wrote the play you are able to show that you also have skills as a capable story writer.
Think of all the possibilities for you to have a opportunity to express the lore of your vtuber you never got to show off because you were too bhsy talking about your cat (who doesn't even have a on screen avatar).

I think going more mechanical for the body would be interesting; having all those joints and moving parts would be cool, but in the end it might not be as aesthetically pleasing as just having some lines to indicate where things bend. I mean, I could just straight up get rid of the indications altogether and make the body look like any other body and that would probably look cutest, and it would reduce the amount of work I need to do, but it would feel a little lame to go that route since he IS supposed to be mechanical to some degree.

Being a shy ESL is hard, I'm good enaugh at art even if very slow at it due to art-block I do believe I am able to make my self a png and later on a model. And I did some ''streaming tests" (simply recorded my self talking to a game I was playing, it was fun ! but...)

But my biggest issue is expressing my self in english (and other languages too), let it be trying to convey my thoughts or to answer smartly without a 20 second delay (which isn't an issue when typing, simply speaking).
I don't really mind my mistakes since I do have an inside joke with friends that I have my own dictionary and hopefully would carry on if I were to stream.

I also have an issue where I can't really make my voice ... flucutate ? It's not monotone but I can't get it louder so it seems monotone. And I can't be way too loud (no scream and shouting) since we can hear what the neighbours are saying in the garden...100m away.

Usually the issues in /asp/ are model wise but I do feel like someone in a blue moon should adress this issue and try to find some sort of solution. I also know that it all comes down to practice but if you dont have a good practice scheme you wouldn't go way too far (which is my problem).

Any /asp/ies with any advice or their experience ?

I really like ESLs as a native speaker. I think it's best when you just make mistakes because they're either fucking hilarious or endearing.

A good example is that tweet of some girl who had a French boyfriend who was holding a saucepan and he couldn't remember the word for lid and say, "Where is his hat?"
Like, it's a perfectly fine sentence and it's obvious what he's asking but it's fucking hilarious. Like, just forcing out whatever English word comes to your head rather than trying to formulate a grammatically correct sentence is much funnier and more endearing than watching someone fumble for a minute in silence while they type into DeepL.

You can also specifically have English learning streams where you zatsu with chat and can deliberately take your time.

Usually what I do is I import the new parts as a new psd. Just make sure to delete all layers that you don't need so it doesn't bloat up your model.
Also the Issue could be that the new parts have the same name as your legs. Maybe give them a new name. Just a guess.

The leg layer and the other layer do not have the same name. I renamed the other layer a second time to be sure, because I know renaming existing layers fucks them up. It still happens.

Just saw this but Live2D doesn't go by the actual name of the layer but it will assign IDs to it. So if you name something "Eye Highlight" it might assign it the ID "Eye" and replace whatever your project currently has the ID "Eye" assigned to. a way around it is to call it "EyeHighlight" or "Eye_Highlight" instead. Then the assigned ID will be "EyeHighlight" instead of "Eye"

it varies from person to person but either way the immediate advice I wanna give upon hearing this is "don't do a debut until you're a bit more settled in." it'd be a waste to go through all the effort of setting one up with fancy slides and notes and events and then you stop streaming two weeks in because you decide it ain't for you.
much like the advice of just start streaming with a PNG instead of waiting months and spending thousands of dollars on a L2D. things like better assets, lore etc. can come with time. if you really feel your audience needs to know things it can come up naturally in conversation, and you can condense it all into a proper debut later down the line.
