I'll give my input. I think it's a natural progression because of the community that has been established. Not wanting to involve those who "don't know" is an understandable thing to desire, but it has its downsides. By gatekeeping potential newfrens, the trickle in can very easily be less than the trickle out. With online communities, people always leave, it's an inevitability. Most will leave, few will stay permanently.
While a place like this arguably has a higher retention rate than other areas of the web, maybe opening the doors a little would still be something which will increase the flow of new viewers, which will increase the amount of people who might stick around a long time. Idk, food for thought I guess.

I know Kiki doesn't want to be seen as relatable to us because of our flaws, and I understand where she's coming from when she says she wants to be an idol and a positive inspiration, but for me personally it's become important to relate to the vtuber I watch. It sucks but I feel like the decrease in bread activity is due mainly to Kiki actually having a healthy schedule for herself and sticking to it.
Before, when she was streaming multiple times per day and her streams could be at practically any time of day around the clock, it helped to keep the engagement up here. Now, there are lots of Champs and casual watchers who simply can't catch a live stream anymore.
Even I have felt the effects of it, even though I do my best to be here as much as I can.
I'm not advocating for Kiki to go back to that lifestyle since it's terrible for her wellbeing, but I believe that it's a big factor.

Kiki's said on stream that her ideal target range is between 150-200ccv, which unlike being a lottery draw is far more achievable. morning pyon. i'll get right into it
there are a couple ways to approach this, that i can think of at least. one is to compare ourselves to other threads, to compare ourselves to what we have been like in the past and to visualize what a perfect pyon would look like for us.

1. what seems to drive most active threads is to a large extent antagonism and negativity. drama, arguments and shitposting. this is also what the super-old pyon was like and the natural state of this board. the reason pyon become so uniquely comfy and evolved away from this was because of the presence of kiki first and foremost. too many times negative posts have made kiki feel bad and this has filtered for and changed the posting habits of anons here away from anything that might possibly make kiki feel bad and towards trying to make her feel good.

i've been lurking the mel threads recently (if you don't know who that is, good), she also reads threads on stream and this phenomenon happened in literally a couple days already. at first she got a lot of hate and many more ips, then slowly the threads became smaller and more positive towards her. trying to make a vtuber feel good rather than bad seems to be more sustainable on the one hand but has less wide appeal on the other.

tl;dr: the main difference between pyon and other threads is that kiki is /here/. because kiki is /here/ and we are aware of it, pyon will naturally filter towards a lack of negativity towards her.

how is this applicable? well we certainly don't want kiki to stop being /here/, it's not possible and that would be as much of a solution as murdering all people creating world peace. instead what i think is we can lean more into trying to get tourists to change towards being positive to kiki and staying rather than filtering them away. kiki can show them how good it feels when they make her feel good with positive attention. she usually does this, she LOVES posts like "hey i'm new i like your chuuba" but she also tells rude people to fuck off rather than trying to groom them. she prides herself on turning antis and shitposters into fans but she's not consistent with this. she doesn't even need to be nice to antis, i know that can also piss off fans, but being nice to a fan instead can make that anti/shitposter feel jealous and want to change as well. not merely ignoring bait to disincentivize negative behavior but show the benefits of being nice to her. pyon will always be mostly nice to her so we need to make being nice to her more appealing than going to another thread and being mean to someone else. we have also been doing this lately, you're literally doing it now with the lia liker (i actually really like those guys they're a really "cute" fanbase, perhaps we can learn something from them specifically).

i'll post more later as i think of it, including the other two thought experiments: comparing to older pyon and visualizing the ideal pyon.

On the one hand that's part of her charm, and it's a pretty good filtering mechanism, but it feels like every time that happens it's because she's in a stressed mood from something else going on in her life. Champs that know her really well understand and do a good job of not taking it personally, but I can definitely see it scaring new IPs off. I still think back to when she scared vee off, for better or worse. What it always comes down to is a strong fight-or-flight reaction, and tourists probably not understanding it's not about them and not personal, just her getting socially panicky.

As for lia liker, I think a lot of champs have tended to be hostile to any other vtubers as an overreaction to protect kiki from her own insecurities, but now and forever I think the best way to do that is to just stick around, and even if we or she mess up, to keep coming back and be humble, to prove we're here forever.

i made the mistake in the previous blogpost of talking way too theoretically rather than practically. now more in line with comparing to how pyon was at it's best here are some things we could use more of.
- effort posts of various kinds. notable examples include longform horny posts, longform gosling posts, blogposts, silly shit like greentext stories and other copypasta, things you find interesting and want to talk about in depth.
- oc of various kinds, i think this is self-explanatory.
- collaborative pyonjects.
- interactive posts and actual discussion (like pokemon right now), consider how to get (you)s without stirring up shit.
- interacting with posts. i'm guilty of this myself i think we should strive more to give out (you)s and making them meaningful rather than simple one liners.

that said don't worry if you think what you want to post isn't interesting and won't get attention. lurkers and kiki will appreciate it to some extent anyway. just in general remember that your participation in pyon is appreciated, meaningful and makes kiki happy.
also if you're a busy wagie just checking in and blogposting a bit about how shit your day was or whatever is fine.
