No, it makes no fucking sense, especially when combined with Holizontal. They forced girls who signed up to do idol content into making esports shit, and then debuted a completely separate branch from hololive that does the exact same things hololive does anyway, when they could have just had DEV_IS be the esports branch and hire people who could actually reasonably compete, and then just make ReGLOSS into JP Gen 7, which wouldn't have hindered their growth.

No, it wasn't. It led to a bunch of rrats about them being a stalking horse for a Niji-like generation with more homo collabs. Cover also failed to advertise them properly and did little to defuse the rrats which made the situation worse.

I'm still not entirely convinced there aren't a ton of homocollabs planned, and that Cover just deferred them when they saw how bad the sub numbers were in an attempt to salvage this launch.

Nobody in this thread knows what cover's plan for DEV_IS actually is. My current headcanon is they will be a music focused group that will be cover's professional band to do spur of the moment live shows in that new app they are working on.

I'm thinking the same thing. I hope it's actually like AKB48 and they eventually do monthly 3D lives.

Personally, I'm not going to watch or support any of them specifically because they aren't in a main hololive branch, and I want to discourage Cover from straying away from idol content. I will no longer support anything that isn't female talents doing idol content under the hololive label.
