I think they're kind of mutually afraid of each other when the language barrier is just so huge and obvious.

The couple that can speak nihongo to some degree have definitely made a mark already (and even a few that can't like ame), but Gura just almost never collabs outside the gen period much less with JPs so has remained the most mysterious/elusive one. I'd more of blame Gura on this than the others as the others are clearly interested in her.

Miko also doesn't commonly collab period (this MiComet stuff lately is unusual), like once a month usually and it's often part of a group, so it would have taken approximately forever for her to ever naturally run into Gura any other way.

It's always weird to me hearing people call her Mori. Just because it feels so impersonal. I know some of Hololive themselves do it and I don't care for it when they do it either but at least it is more common in Japanese to refer to someone by their surname. But in English it's a lot less common so it sounds weird on my ears.

As you can see from these links, Calliope is always used as a given name originating from the muse in Greek mythology, and Mori always used as a surname.

Now, somewhat interestingly, Mori is the Latin word for death, fitting for a grim reaper, but also a fairly common Japanese surname with examples dating back hundreds of years such as Ranmaru Mori who served Nobunaga Oda. Which means it suits Calliope Mori's theme, but also gives off the feeling of a Japanese name so that she fits in comfortably with the rest of Hololive. There are a lot of names in Hololive where the surname is Japanese but the given name is something exotic like Marine, Flare, Noel, and so on. So I just enjoy the dual purpose Calliope's name serves.
