Last time I heard her talk to the jp's I don't think she used any grammar. By that I don't mean she used grammar incorrectly but that she did not use any at all. I believe it was just nouns strung to verbs. She cannot speak Japanese. No place on earth has magic dirt where stepping on it makes you like the people who live there.

If i had to guess, Mori didn't study prior to going to jp and she didn't live there for much time, Kiara finished her studies before going in and lived there for around 10-11 years it's a big difference. Also learning a new language on a older age is harder.

I started taking Japanese more serious from time to time in the past 2 years and while her vocab is bigger, her grammar is worse than mine. And I just did daily 30 minutes reps and read articles for a while, I don't even lived in Japan.
When I went there for business and vacation my Japanese improved so much by immersion.
