It's the exact opposite issue, many niches exist for vtubers to fill but Hololive has dominated for so long that most just copy their format for debuts, schedules, collabs, stream gimmicks, merch and so on.

Along with the initial wave of scripted vtuber content there's Nijisanji's first generations who basically did whatever the fuck they want. A lot of that stuff has not translated into today because 1) it's not profitable and 2) you can't manage people who all have different M.O.'s for their stream.

GMod vtubers wouldn't work because the posing tools are not meant to operate in real-time. Femdom vtubers wouldn't work because lewd stuff has a time and place and needs to be spontaneous. Poker vtubers... I mean unless you want to bring vtubing to Stake that just sounds like a recipe for disaster.

People need to look backwards instead of forwards for innovation in vtubing because the industry is focusing too much on business acumen instead of actually advancing the medium's entertainment variety.

My Oshi is trying to get Fantasy Football going but hasn't received too many bites so far. I know there's people out there interested in it and it has crossover / reach outside of VTuber fan people but they haven't been able to find many people.

Kuudere. Though as a streamer that would be incredibly difficult to pull off.
Deadpan monotone responses, barely responding to chat. Dead air not typical of a streamer. Just focused on her own thing.
However, every once in a while, you'll get a soft chuckle out of her, followed immediately by instant monotone denial that it ever happened.

There's an /asp/ie girl who's apparently making a wrestling model and is a huge wrestling nerd. I like her a lot. I can also think of Angler and Kit off the top of my head. Despite the amount of overlap, there doesn't seem to be many "wrestling"-specific chuubas, and girls even moreso nonexistent

If we're talking about stuff vtubers can do on stream for views literally just roleplay if the dogs getting so much attention isn't a big enough sign I don't know what else to do for these retards. Baldurs gate 3 is fresh and popular too. It's just dnd without the hours of setup and making a campaign

/sp/ games

I'm actually surprised that /sp/ games arent popular in vtubing especially among dudes despite the most of the fanbase also being dudes. Nearly every guy who owned PC or console where I'm from bought it primarily just to play FPS and /sp/ games with their friends. However, while FPS is super popular among chuubas, the /sp/ genre is largely ignored.

Axel from Tempus played NBA 2K a couple of times before and those streams were super fun, but that's about it.

Vtubing meta is going to circle back around to edited video content instead of streaming.
