Nobody enjoy "playing Rust as Rust" because it's a game that encourages griefing. That's why there is server rule so that everyone doesn't get pissed off at each other. Those rules were drastically implemented after S1 when the JP girls created drama and it was even rumored that Pekora complained to management.
Anyway, in that case it was the end of S2 and everyone was killing each other for fun except for Ame building shit on her own far away. Gura goes to meet her, see that she's not participating in their mess, but since her brain doesn't always work properly, she kills Watson anyway. Then she gets yelled at (especially since Watson was trying to do some weird stunt before the server close and was strapped for time), but since it made her sad and ruined the mood people felt sorry for her instead (???).
It was 100% Gura's fault and I don't see the point of defending her unless you're an Amelia anti. It's not the first time a girl has fucked up on stream, and won't be the last time.
