So Cover were definitely not worried about her spilling anything, because everything was public in that instance and they had nothing to hide.

If it was a simple contract expiration, there would be no need to deny a graduation stream. But if it was something more nefarious, giving the two homos a platform just for the end would be extremely risky, they might stupidly spill the beans out of malice and make things worse for everyone.
And once they have officially left the contract, Cover has the leverage of releasing info about the actual incident if the two of them ever decided to one sidedly go public from their RM side.
