Not much you can do other than inpainting until it works, or redrawing the hand in Photoshop/gimp/paint and throw it back into inpaint. You can also try to find another image with good hands, cut out the hands and paste it over your bad hand and then inpaint until it blends in with the rest of the image.

Or you could just choose to ignore it and your headaches will go away.

One thing to try, is use that little "extra" checkbox put the variation to 0.1 and reroll a few times. What this will do is change little things in the image without destroying the composition and is a better way to try and get acceptable (keyword acceptable lol) hands. Still RNG but may want try first before inpainting, see if the gods smile on you kek.

So with hands even inpainting them can take some time. Using something like photoshop can work too. However, the amount of work you're have to do will vary drastically by your model.
I've found that the model that you use is the biggest determinator for the level of hands you get. Fancy negative embeddings won't make up for whatever the model gives you already. So if you're not happy with the hands your model gives you then I would recommend trying your hand at mixing a different model.
No model will give you consisntely great hands, but if you can get a model that gives you decent or even good hands with some regularity then that's a game changer.

actually that was bad input on my part. there's 2 ways to upscale, literally just upscaling which seems to be a solid 1k every time. or doing a highres fix of the gen, which you can also set to low priority and play with the steps. you don't have to do both upscale and highres fix. so it should be 400 + 1X00 for gen+highres depending on how many steps. (attached image is simply upscale. it changed almost nothing from the og gen, but didn't garble the image, not worth imo)

Yeah a lot of the posters who I know get better hands utilize breakdomain. I wonder if there is some correlation between mixes with thicker lines and better hands.
Also something that I'll add is that it's way more common to get one good hand and one horrible hand then luck into two good hands. So even in my outputs that I get with good hands there's usually only one hand as a focus.

AFAIK upscaler is just upscaling the image cleanly idk what else it does. while highres fix is basically a re-gen based on the previous gen in a higher resolution while fixing some fuckery with the ai. basically run the first gen at low steps and fix at high steps to save on credits.

top is upscale, bottom is highres. to the right bottom is original image, while top is highres image resized down, so you can compare the differences.

One of those hands looks pretty good and you can probably just mask over it, put hands and/or fingers in the prompt, and roll a few times you'll probably get something good. The really ugly hand you can probably also reroll into something with inpainting eventually (much faster + easier than rolling the entire image) but realistically you'd probably want to do some image editing.
What I do sometimes with images like this, where I like the overall composition but one (or both) of the hands is wack, is roll a few more with the same seed and very minor changes. +/-2 steps, +-0.5 cfg scale, slightly different denoising factor on the upscale. Usually none of these will fully fix it but sometimes you can get a thing that's a little bit closer and more reasonable to get with inpaint without having to edit the image yourself. I personally find whenever I do that it never quite blends back into the original image properly again. Maybe I'm just bad at editing

I never searched loli specifically myself but a few months ago if you searched the AI tags you'd get a ton of loli and also quite a few unique "art"style gens for non-loli as well. After they cracked down if you search AI it's all generic kpop girls. Not that I know of, waving sometimes give you both hands and other times just one. It's just something I noticed looking back at my gens that feature hands. "Ass grab" tends to give at least one hand on the butt and while keeping the other hand off to the side so you can easily just get rid of it.

Honestly the hands your model already has are pretty decent by AI standards. But if you do want to make them better then the missing piece could be adding the right model to your mix (or making a new one from scratch).

Here is my best attempt. I've never used img2img before so I'm sorry if it's not quite to your liking. Thanks for the request it helped me learn quite a bit, I think, by just messing around with stuff.

Anyways I know you've been requesting this for a while. I don't know if people just aren't interested or whatnot, but maybe next time try to do some of the prep work beforehand so that prompters might go "oh, yeah sure that's easy enough". For example I edited the image so that the character had blue hair and eyes. Going even further than that, I could have probably made the process quicker by drawing blue triangles and a grey headband on her head. It doesn't need to look perfect. Only enough to help guide the ai in the right direction.

Yeah it's me.
It's the latest (well, not latest anymore) iteration of my endless merging madness.
It's got a ton of stuff in it but if you get the latest Break Domain and merge it with HLL5B you've got something about as good and probably a lot easier to use.
I also didn't keep track of the first couple merging steps I did so I can't actually replicate it 100%. I know Ghost Mix 2.0 is in there, that's also a very strong solo model.

Sometimes you have no choice but editing it yourself if you want to inpaint something complex but at least personally I think the image tends to look better if you can avoid that when possible.
Another thing I should mention is that you can sorta gradually inpaint it. Like if you try to inpaint and get something that's still not good but at least is closer to what you want, use that image as your inpainting base instead.

I tried a bit to fix the messy hand using only inpaint without any manual editing, just to see if it would work, and I think it got a little better? But sometimes you're better off just sucking it up and opening up paint.

Oh and also since I guess you're using a lora made without tons of reference images I should say that sometimes a bad lora can really mess with hands as well. I tried making one way back in the day of some smaller vtuber, basically every pic in the dataset had bad hands and it became near impossible to generate good hands. Not that there's a ton you can really do about this though

Im using controlnet Canny on this reference image.

Use the above img in the img2img tab, thats because I wanted to emulate the structure of the image as well.
The reason for using Canny here is that Canny outlines the handholding portion of the picture and forces the AI to prompt with respect to those outlines.

This is effective in getting the pose and the hands down.... The problem? anything that is outside of those lines will have trouble getting prompted unless you blast the AI with high weight values on those tags. See Okayu's lack of tail here. This almost always requires you to inpaint it.

Well the best way to learn is to try it yourself.

There's two upscaling tools that I usually use, Ultimate Upscaler and Tiled Diffusion. For both it's probably a good idea to also use ControlNet Tile to reduce the unwanted changes.
Additionally, I usually do two passes, once without any people tags (e.g. only scenery tags) in the prompt and one with. Then I layer them together in photoshop. If I have multiple people, I need to do additional inpaints with separate character tags.
