Now Randon and Professor Lando are having a new indie adventure and seeing if they can keep their audiences intact and become something bigger. I think it would be funny if Randon continued to grow after this, since he does well on both twitch and youtube for some reason, showing that Cover fumbled a golden goose for Stars.

The actual strange part to me is that they still haven't posted graduation messages to their individual twitters and the youtube channels are just abandoned as is, like when refugees evict an area and you're left with hot meals on the table untouched. No one in management seems to have sorted those accounts out, so even though the boys graduated it's like they were hoping until the last minute they could work something out.

Professor Lando and Randon will make significantly more money as they are on Twitch right now with their 2-4k CCV audience, or even with an audience as small as 200 people, than they were on youtube with youtube and cover both taking percentage cuts of the pie.

Unless we assume Magni and Vesper are assholes who walked into the office and threw their balls on the table like some suggest, they probably didn't explicitly want to burn bridges after getting model reworks and merely wanted a percentage increase to compensate the tradeoff vs. being an indie, as being in a corporation has many benefits in sponsorships, concerts, covers, and such but the logical assumption is that the income tradeoff was not so great and they assumed they'd have some leverage being top earners in StarsEN up to that point.

Cover dragged out their graduations, or the more cynical would say forced them to be out of work for 2 months keeping them in limbo either to make them sign or to punish them, but hopefully this was because of negotiation.

Randon was stressed and was reasonably afraid that dropping out of cover (which did not seem like something he 100% wanted to do despite memes about how he bitchslaps managers and goes straight to yagoo) would make people hate him and was elated to find people were just missing him for the most part and things might actually work out in spite of the last few months of weirdness.

There is no unicorn conspiracy much as there is no homobeggar conspiracy, as a corporation Cover pursues profit and cross gender collabs ended when there was no profit there. Likewise cover does not want to give people raises when the current model works fine. The recent issue with z-aN was by an error on their part which Cover had no control over and was unfortunate but Cover chose to make the concert free in hopes of keeping their longterm margins good by keeping customers happy- they likely have some kind of insurance there.

Profit is what matters for everyone involved, there is no malicious attempt to cut off one's nose to spite one's face. People who think Lando was 10D chessing his way into Japanese streamer circles and gave up when that didn't happen, people who think cover pushed Randon out because Stars didn't blow up like vox akuma, these are both wrong. Stability and profit.

I do believe however that new management did try to play hard ball with Magni and Vesper and used the model redesigns as a guilt trip against them, rather than the other way around of Magni and Vesper using them as hostage. Cover has no problems scrapping barely used models.
And this is just based on a track record with other industries to play ball with western markets. They are simply afterthoughts to them. Poor anime and game localizations or not pushing out desirable series to the west being an example, or not taking feedback from westerns seriously in many cases. In terms of Hololive, I always felt that even with the EN girls that they were just an experiment that worked better than expected because some of the RM shit over the years and the current Gura attitude of not wanting to stream or 'allegedly sabotaging" Advent by overlapping them gives this feeling that they don't like dealing with the environment that they are in, but have to deal with it because its all the girls have It's their peak. (ex: Mori would lose mostly everything if she gave up her Holo life. The corpos like Universal want the anime girl, not the 3D behind it).
I think they made a mistake trying to treat the boys like the girls and Magni and Vesper being some of the older talents who have worked real jobs and have no problem going back to that or pulling the weight to go solo (again) simply had enough of their shit. They couldn't deal with the American mindset of wanting to negotiate for better deal to put up with dealing with their current positions, and this would probably tank StarsEN, which is unfortunate. A StarsEN3 needs another pair of Magni and Vesper or another Bettel to breath life back in or they will fail.
You could also make the case that they want to get rid of the male branch as a whole including JP if they think they can maximize revenue. Hololive is not male talent friendly to begin with. I'm not saying its the thing to do because it would screw over all the boys, but who knows.
