For those of you dealing with a chatter who is trauma dumping in your chat my advice to you is to set your chat to emote only.
If you are not prepared to moderate chat if you are not prepared for messages that are unexpected then it might be best for you to VIP10 of your best chatters and set the rest to emote only mode. By having your chat on emote only mode not only do you make chat easier to moderate but also you make chat more fun to participate in as a novice chatter. A chatter who may not speak English or may not speak English well is not going to have a good time trying to please you as a chatter with their skill set at least without great effort effort which English native speakers would find laughable.
I highly advise setting your chat to emote only mode to all vtubers who find fully typed out English messages offensive. You have to keep in mind that a chatter went through great effort to type out a legible sentence and in return if you get upset or if you ban them well that's just not fun for anyone. Please consider setting your chat to emote only mode. By having your chat on emote only mode you make it virtually impossible for an English speaking chatter to be offensive to you.
Let's keep it 100% honest here and admit that non-vip chatters that new chatters who post paragraphs in chat are unappreciated and that VIP chatters and regulars are very appreciated so with this in mind let's admit that the streamers do play favorites and you're only complained about as a trauma dumper if you are not that communities favorite chatter so to bypass this issue and the stigma for non favorite chatters my advice is to go ahead and be open and honest about who your favorite Chatters are VIP them and then set the rest to emote only mode.
If a chatter catches your eye and becomes a favorite of yours you can always choose to VIP them and if a chatter who is currently your favorite falls out of Grace you can choose to remove VIP making them just a regular emote chatter.
Using this method should call less Chatters meaning that you have a larger audience a larger engaging participating audience which can cause no harm which means no foul your numbers will increase the negative feelings generated by your channel will decrease and overall everyone wins especially twitch who gets their Global emotes to get used in chat.

To anyone reading this who is a vtuber my advice to you is to create a side character.
So you have your main character and your main model and that is what you use for your Channel but you as a vtuber have a skill as an Entertainer which can be used for more than just your Twitch Channel. which can be used for more than just your Twitch Channel. My advice to you is to create a secondary character with a secondary model that can be used for commercial purposes. for commercial purposes.
You wouldn't want to give away your character for some company but you could possibly lend your talents as a vtuber using a different model and a different character. I'm sure you've seen enough local commercials to know that the local companies can be kind of boring with what they make on commercials and their commercials aren't always all that funny sometimes they are sometimes they aren't. Imagine what one of your local businesses could do and how far their services and products might reach by being backed by an Entertainer like you on a commercial.
As a vtuber you should have a skill to at the very least talk at least in text mode and text captions can still be funny on a commercial but if you can voice act that would be really good too. Even further as a vtuber you may possess the skill to make short skits that are similar to an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force that kind of stuff is stuff that you may have watched on Old Machinima cartoons and things of that sort and those things people find entertaining and those things people would likely love to watch as their commercial break while they're watching Crunchyroll or any other service for entertainment that spam's ads to their users.
Think about all the different anime services and how many commercials they play imagine how far your local companies could go by Contracting a talent such as yourself to promote their products and promote their services in a vtuber commercial.
So my advice to you is to first of all watch some entertainment that has advertisements and then take note of what advertisements play and the companies which own those advertisements and from there my advice to you is to apply yourself to those companies the same way you would apply to hello live except instead of applying to be a full-time YouTuber you would simply be applying to make a commercial to entertain and entice viewers to use that companies products and services in exchange for payment.
This could be a possible way to make the tubing make you a bit of money a bit of change on the side something like regular Revenue couldn't hurt in exchange for your talents as a vtuber Entertainer.

Skeb can be a pain sometimes, especially if the artist doesn't speak English. Best way to find reliable artists is to look at skeb commissions of other vtubers and go from there.
My strat was always to look for SEA based artists on twitter, usually Filipinos. They can keep prices low due to cost of living and all that, so don't feel too bad. The ones I usually comm throws in free sketches too sometimes.

Generally speaking I would say the most basic reasonable price for a model and for rigging the model would be the price of a PC which can run a program that can generate a model while also being capable of rigging that model throw in the price of Internet to send that model to the commissioner along with the price of electricity and the price of an education which teaches you to use that computer and the price of an education which teaches you to be able to artistically create that model and the price of an education which teaches you how to rig the model in the way that the commissioner desires and then finally the price of some clean water for the artist and the price of a meal.

From my understanding for vtuber the benefits of twitch affiliate are ad Revenue emotes bits Subs and if I'm not mistaken you also have the ability to rebroadcast your vods while having a higher chance that your vods will save on Twitch for longer period of time then a non-affiliate twitch Channel.
If you were able to play reruns as an affiliate that means that your Channel will appear live on Twitch which means that anyone browsing the category that you're live rerun is currently playing in will have exposure to your Channel immediately.
If a vtuber plays a live rerun there is a chance that advertisements can play and that vtuber can collect a portion of that ad Revenue. The chances are much lower that a high paying advertisement will play on a rerun but the chance is there nonetheless.
I personally have watched lots of vtuber reruns and I can tell you that the advertisements are often simply twitch advertisements which leads me to believe that they are not high paying sponsored advertisements the reason for this is because twitch advertisements often don't have a speaking role nor are they very long in duration.
Everything is not rainbows and daisies for an affiliate please don't take that from this conversation. An affiliate is held to a higher standard by twitches TOs then a non-affiliate channel and an affiliate is expected to behave more professionally than a non-affiliate channel.

I have the opposite problem of highish ccv but relatively low follower count. I suck at internet "marketing" and active networking as I've been a lurker most of my life. The viewers I do attract tend to return and stay loyal however. My advice is to be attentive and personable towards your chatters, and to find 1-2 games with a small, but active community you can interact with.

The poster above has it nailed. I can't say what it's like to be a streamer with a high viewership average but what I can tell you is that as a viewer50% perhaps even80% of what keeps me attentive and engage with your Channel is the chat. I'm not even talking about me chatting in fact oftentimes when I view a channel I'm not chatting at all. When you have an interesting chat it can make up for what you may have as flaws as a streamer. Your community specifically your chat is what makes up a large part of the content that your Channel is measured in.
I will admit that oftentimes the vtuber model is what gets me to click on a channel along with the game category. As a viewer I often avoid watching the just chatting game category. I hate to say it I don't want to admit it but a big part of what gets me to click on your Channel is your model the game category and how many viewers you have. I really enjoy reading chat and watching gameplay of a game that I enjoy playing.
I like watching chat so much so that I will often mute a vtuber in order to concentrate on reading and enjoying chat as a lurker.
In summary I am not a good streamer but I know what I like as a viewer and I can tell you that if you want to keep my view a big part of that is having an interesting chat and playing a game I enjoy.
I am not a successful streamer but my advice to you if I had any to give is for you to survey viewers and ask them what games they enjoy playing and perhaps if you have the funds you may want to hire chatters who can make interesting chat messages in your channels chat while you are live streaming a game that people enjoy playing.

I think streaming into the void is a totally valid approach to vtubing. I myself have discovered many channels by simply browsing who is live and clicking on a channel that was live. Some of those channels who I clicked on found great success with their strategy of streaming until people find them. I would say it's not a bad approach and it's worked out for some people so it is totally a valid way to seek out success as a vtuber.
What I would advise as an alternative approach to vtubing would be to survey viewers and Taylor fit a stream or video that those specific viewers would find acceptable. I know what you're thinking where do I find these viewers well there are threads all over the board that have viewers who actively seek entertainment online.
My advice to you would be to survey these viewers asking them how vtuber could best serve them entertainment.
When you find a general consensus on what seems like an accurate answer as to what the population of people who seek online entertainment from the YouTubers desire then you may be able to formulate content that has the potential to go very viral among people who enjoy entertainment from vtubers.

If things are working the way you like I might suggest sticking to what you got going because the future is uncertain and I guess in that sense whatever you choose will be uncertain whether you choose to stick to your guns or try something new.
If I'm reading you correctly it seems like a part of you wants to wipe the Slate a bit and start new I could be mistaken but that's what it kind of seems like and if that's what you want to do when I would suggest is looking for people who you are familiar with and asking them if they would like to watch some entertainment and then follow that question if they say yes with what kind of entertainment would they like to watch and then work from there on planning how your show would be.

You maybe choosing the correct route by doing this I say this mostly because I have watched a lot of streamers who lack brand identity they often make their identity watching other brands and associating with other brands and as a follower of their brand it can make things a bit unclear and uncertain when trying to follow them.
What I'm trying to tell you is the chances that these larger channels have a concept of brand loyalty is probably high and I would highly advise trying to merge your brand with their brand because chances are they will absorb any sense of brand identity that your content possesses which will in turn make things a lot more difficult for your followers to easily follow your content and understand your brand.

I would say if where you are currently feels natural then it might not be ideal to stray from where you are currently mentally.
A YouTuber once told me well not me personally they told their stream that your skills need constant honing and that to neglect your skills is to cause them to degrade.
