If this is the personal anecdote thread, as someone who watches mostly 1 male fleshtuber (and 1 female vtuber), I'd also be pretty annoyed if the guy I watch collabed with some random girl. Why? Because the content would change from what I watch him for.

This is true the other way around too. I hate when girls start trying to either be extra cute or "one of the boys" around male steamers and when guys start peacocking around female streamers during a collab, both feel fake as fuck. Unless it's a combo where no possible attraction is involved (e.g. a gay guy and a lesbian) any co-ed collab will have a completely different air than an all-girls or all-boys stream.

I think it's because it's awkward if they haven't known each other for years or if you're just plain not used to it. If you are, like if you watch niji or ironmouse, then you're going to be used to it for the most part. I know some people complain even when niji does it, but at this point you may as well be. Males also have to try harder to be generally entertaining, both flesh and vtubers. Females can just be cute/ stupid/ lewd and gain a following. But I think it's mostly because it can be awkward because both men and women act differently around each other.
