When female vtubers do kayfabe, they're not actually roleplaying as sharks or fantasy creatures or gods, but as the basic archetype of a 'cute girl' (or a sexy woman). So they don't actually have to change their personality that much. This is important when they stream for several hours a day, otherwise it would get exhausting.

All of the masculine archetypes you mentioned are outlandish fantasy ones that would be difficult to keep up with for long. It would also run the risk of becoming cringe if he overdos it. So most guys don't go through with the effort and instead play as the male equivalent to the low effort cute girl archetype which is your 'gamer friend'. The problem as mentioned in this thread is that fleshstreamers already have this market saturated and using an anime avatar isn't really a plus for this kind of character.

I think an outlandish brotuber like you want could be possible- but it would take a really ambitious, charismatic, and creative guy to pull it off. Most people aren't going to bother, or their skills won't cut it.

The idea of having a bunch of based brotubers sounds cool but it's unlikely to happen. All of the guys you listed are preprepared video specalists; it's much harder to be that funny when you're live (I've watched E;R's streams before so I can tell). This is why most streamers degrade into react content, uninspired commentary on video games, or hanging out with more popular streamers.

I also don't know what benefit there would be for these guys to join any group. None of them seem like they would want to 'sell out'. E;R specifically is radioactive and even the other edgy content creators won't want to associate with him.

Kind of true. The main idea of using a vtuber model as a dude is to have a model unique enough to get attention if you're trying to grow an audience. A dude playing and talking is just not enough nowadays if you're starting from literally nothing, no matter how funny or entertaining you are it doesn't matter if your views are at 0, so a lot of them use vtubers as a gimmick to attract viewers that get curious. You can't do that if you're using a normal cam or no cam, it just doesn't work anymore with the small attention span of people nowadays.

I would argue the right move is to be a "brotuber" and then when your audience grows just stop using the vtuber gimmick. There is no point to being a male vtuber if you're just a normal dude who is good at games or entertaining. Women get away with it and also have to use a model because they're generally not interesting or entertaining as people, but men can do just fine without it since most people stick around for the humor or good gameplay. Men rarely get any benefit from being vtubers but if you're just starting out, having a good gimmick model to attract viewers isn't a bad idea and it sure beats having 0 viewers on your stream.
