For me the market tab with all graphs open takes about 5-10 seconds, purely cause of the graphs, if I disable those or visit pretty much any other tab its a second or so max, strange then that you get a delay. Is your internet speed 0.5MB/s or lower? A new tab is a ~6MB file of data to grab into temporary storage.

My internet speed is around 54 Mbps, and it takes about 20 seconds to load the market page in the stats mode. Switching to the profile (without opening another tab) takes around 20 more seconds. I deleted cookies and disabled my ad blocker just to make sure and nothing changed

Normal would be like ~5 seconds of loading, if you try a vpn to america that should be the fastest. In europe its about 6 seconds for me without a vpn, alternative is to try swapping to quad 8 DNS. If you open up chrome/browser console with right click inspect, then navigate to the 'network' tab and refresh on profile, you should get something like the attached picture for the timings, if you don't get around that, try a vpn and see the difference. If a vpn works then it is your local internet provider doing something funny is my best guess
