anki is a basicly a glorified virtual flashcard app and "core 2.3k" refers to a set of already made flash cards of common kanji... though you should probably learn hiragana first and basic grammar. I liked using the mnemonic device approach from a tofugu guide for hiragana

It really isn't that onerous to learn basic Japanese. I'm in the AU timezone so JP streams are all I can watch live. I also follow all the JP members twitter accounts. At the very least you'll quickly pick up the kana in the Holos names. It doesn't take long to recognize that the こ is the ko in Pekora, Miko and Korone and associate it automatically and be able to pick it out and recognize it as a ko when it appears.

If you just try reading hololive members tweets and community posts without translation as you learn you'll be surprised at how quickly you'll start to put things together, even the kanji.This is all through osmosis I haven't been putting in any actual time or effort to actually learn Japanese but it comes through simply watching streams and interacting with twitter.
