The thing is that /ope/ needs the most is actually people starting to have actual discussions too, but the thread is defintely just as slow as /rrat/ despite a rather high IPs count (discounting the thread). I'd say that the rare benefit of /ope/ as far as discussions can go compared to the other advent general is that it doesn't need to spew memes in an obnoxious rate to keep things afloat, but that resort to image-dump most of the time.
