Yeah, I play a low int char in d&d who is basically reduced to grunts and simple words. You need to make up for it by describing what you're doing. Paint the scene. Watoto has so much potential to be an interesting and deep character but it's wasted if all you do is stand there and say "Watoto trade" . I had the same issue with inas character. It is great. I honestly have no idea why it faced many complaints. Survival horror TTRPG like WoD & Call of Cthulhu keep telling you to use your wits to win a combat scenario & so far Ame is the only one that actually won, without rolling initiative.
Sure the wyrm mark will be problematic, but she is about to join the hunters anyway & if played correctly, Ame can turn Watoto into a "good" vampire, like Vic.
As for the RP part, it is only bad because it is 1 on 1 session & Mori fills the narrative nicely. Ame actually manages to throw some good comeback.

I think Ina's was worse. She seemed overwhelmed by every choice she had to make, even the trivial ones. Ame at least seems to be easing into it more. They're both novices so I get it. If Gura ends up as charismatic as kiara, I think once they start proper, those two will help Ame and Ina open up more.

It was just bad honestly. Two hours of 2-3 word grunts in a 1:1 rpg session? Mori managed to make it entertaining but what a terrible, terrible concept for a character. Watoto doesn’t feel like a plausible human at all and after it I have no idea of her characters personality, motivations or even what they look like. Meme characters are fun for like 30 minutes then you are stuck with an annoying gimmick for the entire campaign. In layman's terms: Wyrm is one of the three super super spirits in the setting. Wyld creates stuff randomly, Weaver shapes stuff, & Wyrm destroys stuff. So obviously, evil stuff like vampires related to Wyrm.

If these tutorial sessions are anything to go by, this TTRPG collab is going to make this board a bit of a nigthmare to be honest. Not because of the stream itself, that will be enjoyable. But essentially because it's going to spawn the absolute worst kind of tribalfagging antis imaginable. It's no longer just a case of "My oshi is better than your oshi", but instead it will be "My oshi playing a character for a board game is better than your oshi playing a character for a boardgame". You then have the TTRPG elitists who are basically the turbo nerd equivelent of a 12 year old crying when a vtuber does something wrong in Minecraft. Multiply all this by 5 for each individual person involved in the collab.

Anyway, that's my rant over with. For now I'd rather forget about it and look forward to the rest of Ame's streams this week.

Because most of the story is generated by interaction between the players and npcs. Leading the players around to plot points isn’t inherently fun. Ame’s character has huge intrinsic barriers to basic interaction. She’s literally wearing a tinfoil hat. She speaks at the level of a four year old. And in a survival horror game like this or Cthulhu, the best part is putting the players in a difficult situation & see how they break the game. Railroading the party for one hour just to make them start the session you've been prepared for days isn't fun.

A Short Hike is probably still my favorite one-shot game that she's done. I'm not sure how to describe it except that it was just really nice to kick back with her as she explored the world and its characters, acting like the goofball that she is here and there.

We had a week where she streamed 40 hours (charity stream week), followed by another packed week ~25 hours or so.
Then 2 lighter weeks, and this one in particular she said it would be really short.
Now the next 2 weeks will be packed again. Pretty sure she wants to keep this cycle to avoid burnout, she had a bad one in january.
