The entire hobby of watching vtubers will always have the stench of mental illness attached to it.

My point is not that they are merely converting female assets that are desirable to men (like being entertaining, pure or clever) into money by appealing to male patrons. This is a practice as old as humanity (see e.g. singers, actors, geisha, pop stars, idols, whores, etc.).
I am denouncing for once that vtubers can practically fabricate many of those qualities from thin air by being disingenuous and straight up lying because they are close to being anonymous: For instance, smaller vtubers can successfully make tabula rasa be redebuting, burying slip ups in which they showed their true colors in their PL.
And secondly (this also applies to flesh tubers) that the interaction you have with a streamer is exceptionally deceptive and toxic due to the viewing habits streaming *in particular* enables. My main concern here lies with the frequency at which zatsu (or "just chatting") occur, because this type of stream tries to emulate a normal interaction during which viewers only feel like they are forming a personal connection with their oshi, when in fact she cannot know you (commonly known as "parasocial relationship") exceptions only maybe if you are a whale. Which brings me to the last point: Viewers will *court for the streamers attention* to an extreme extent by showering them with *instantaneous* gifts like bits, donos and subscriptions to some extend. I probably don't have to tell that this is very unhealthy behavior and the aforementioned pay pig fetish: you send gifts to show your gratitude, not to enable a basis for any kind of communication.
It is simple anon: a female streamer with a husband is not eliminated from "the streaming sphere" if she can provide assets that do not rely on her being taken.

If they did, they would behave in much more screwed-up ways. They would question why they don't have DM communications, why they aren't discord buddies, why they aren't meeting up in real life. I am not convinced that this is due to a lack of desire of donators to form or maintain a personal connection with the streamer, but something like being fearful about stepping out of the crowd that is chat to make their voice heard and/or falling in misfortune with their oshi.
