It's stale. Like they copied some of the planning notes from season 1 except with a few changes so it's not an outright copy. If you enjoyed the lore implications from season 1, those are gone. If you enjoyed the cute girls doing cute things, it's not appreciably different not like that's ever been a problem for CGDCT casuals. If you were wanting continuation and development from season 1, you're only getting a couple cameos and retcons. It's just not a good show.
Also the animation is improved but it's still bad. Just not as atrocious as season 1.
