Yes? Just like all her other songs she did her takes at home and sent them over to the mixer, and they mostly came out fine (with a decent helping from the wonders of modern audio engineering of course). Don't get me wrong, sure it would be preferable if she went into a proper studio with better equipment and most importantly a live director to guide her, but yeah she's not going to book a random studio in europe for it and Cover isn't flying her over to their own studio for her private project.

Orange is particularly jarring because she's not at all harmonized with Nene, and it's something you would catch on a studio. Nah, Fever Nights main problem was the ESL-tier lyrics didn't mesh with the melody line and fell on some awkward beats. That's an issue that had its roots already in the writing phase and there's not much a studio director can help Kiara there because she has to follow the lines she was given. I mean yeah sure, technically a director could propose a slightly tweaked alternative melody if he has the chops for it, or tell Kiara to "just improvise something different lol, this isn't working" if he doesn't, but then we're also getting into the job description territory of a writer/composer. A vocal director in the strict sense is usually just there to check vocal performance and rehearse feedback like "You went slightly off key in that part, do it again" or "can you do put a little bit more emphasis on that word here?" etc. but again her pure vocal performance wasn't the main problem with Fever Night.
