Recently I was wondering why beryl was getting so much better numbers than the average male from /asp/. His numbers are unusually good and have always kind of confused me, its not like he is a bad streamer or anything but he also isn't leagues better than the other males either.

So I decided to do a little bit of research. Thankfully my search was quickly fruitful thanks to a feature I had never noticed before on twitchtracker. Twitchtracker seems to track if any relatively famous streamers are following a channel. And what do you know, Beryl has 3 relatively famous people following him. Lets see if any of those can do something to explain the mystery of beryl's growth.

Using another rather useful tool I can find out when a channel followed a streamer (twitchdatabase.com), and one of those famous streamers (KitsuneSpirit, a high 2 view or low 3 view depending on the day) seems to have followed beryl very early on in his streaming history, back from when he was getting around 3-4 ccv a stream and had a scant 30 or so followers. Right after this follow beryl had his biggest stream ever up to that point and after that seemed to have a bit of a boost and then climbed to being a 2view in just a few weeks. It seems likely that beryl had some level of connections to this streamer that he was able to use to get a quick burst of viewership that most males never seem to get.

I was surprised at how well this new information validated one of the top theories from /asp/ as to why beryl grew like he did. So I guess the lesson of the day is to befriend a 2 or 3 view on discord so that you can get big shout outs to skip most of the 1 view growth period.

okay so I'm pretty much done with the schedule and logo for manasong. the zip contains the schedule psd some preview pictures and the fonts used. Here's a couple things to note on how to use it:

If gimp supports colored layers, the layers in blue are meant for editing. Everything else in gray is static.

- The art showcase group has a mask on it so every picture you throw in there automatically fits into the box.
- stream week date should be adjusted or you can leave it out if you want. i like it
- every day of the week has an active and inactive folder. select whichever applies. within that folder you can use the 1 line text or the 2 line text, they are already formatted, just make sure they stay aligned. You should change the day in the Weekday Diamond the time and the duration of the stream accordingly.
- the logo has two versions for a light and a dark background, use however you see fit. .psd if you want to make edits although I didn't clean up the logo. If you want any changes you can always throw it in the thread here I'll probably read it and respond.
- I highly recommend using photoshop for editing the schedule i'm too lazy to check how it looks in gimp, sorry.

This should be about everything. If anyone thinks about stealing whatever I made for themselves, you can just ask me to make something for you and I'll do it for free. But I can't stop you obviously.

Hey, I tried to respond in the last thread, but it timed out while I was at work.
I really shouldn't have linked a Sekiro stream. those ones are noticeably worse than most of my others, but for some reason I'm powering through to the end of that game. It just doesn't give me enough to talk about. Something else I'm trying to fix is my alertness in the stream. I get started shortly after I wake up, but recently I haven't been having any sort of caffeine. I know, it's no excuse, but I'll do what I can to gain an edge. Even my saturday streams have started slipping in word-count, so that's definitely something I'm in need of improvement.
I'm even considering coding up a quick random word generator to try and add to the random comedy, and to help give myself some ideas.
As for my layout, I got struck with an idea on how to finally make happen something I had the idea for a while ago. I stopped trying to do it "the right way" and started using whatever tools I already knew how to make to make this happen.
I'm pretty proud with how this thing turned out honestly. I call it my Scrying Map.
You can still see a bit of the green that I couldn't key out, but when it's taking up 1/40 of the screen, I don't think many people will notice or care.
Still working on making that proper model. When I do, I'll hopefully be ready to re-debut.
By the by, I haven't checked in for a while, are there any proper alternatives to VSeeFace that work on Linux natively yet? I'm still just running it through proton, and it crashes whenever I swap to a different window manager tag on the same desktop.

There's 2 ways:
The first one, like some other anon said, to know them beforehand. And to actually be real friends, not someone you spoke to once, or it was someone you wouldn't wanna talk to but now you are suddenly running to their DMs being like "Hey remember me? The second one is to grow on your own. It depends on how big they are, someone like IronMouse is out of the question, but someone who is big/growing but not that big, there's still a good chance.
These are still people who look for friends, like actual friends, because their other big vtuber friends are too busy running their own shit.
However, don't look at numbers when trying to befriend, look at people who you like because of the content they make and their personality. Nobody likes a leech.
This advice isn't meant to be for leeching, but for encouraging people to try to befriend or talk to other streamers.
And you should still try to befriend smaller streamers, you never know which one is gonna blow up.

What do you use as a background?
I was thinking of finally getting a custom backgroud but any decent artist costs a lot of money and I'm afraid the quality delivered may be far below of the ones on the artist portfolio.
I was also thinking about just paying 5$ to an AI "artist" to get something like pic related as my friend did.

It is just anecdotal evidence, but I've tried making friends in this hobby for a long time and by the time they have their community and their own discord they pretty much shut off any communication outside. This can be 20 or 2000 CCV doesn't really matter. Most people can't even manage to talk to a single person a day without getting an anxiety attack or something like that. I pride myself being a person that's always up for talking, I can have a conversation with people for 10+ hours a day just sitting in voice chat and rambling but I admit that I'm kind of an outlier for that.

That's kind of enough for me to accept that I'm probably not going to be making any (meaningful) friends here. I still met a lot of great people I talk to occassionally, but yeah most of them are just too occupied. That was me all day at work today. Looking over the audition sheet at break and thinking about what kind of a chance I'd have if I signed up right now.
I've been going through this little schizo daydream fantasy for a while. I'd ace the auditions and be added to HolostarsEN. Then after a year or so, I'd leave a cryptic hint to the fans on where to find me next, then ghost the company and start streaming on my indie account again. No longer being a 0-view, but taking a fraction of my HoloStars audience with me.
I've come to realize just how cataclysmically stupid this is. Even in the version where I graduate like normal, and leave it to the sleuths to find my alt account, it just seems like more of a black mark on my reputation than anything.
