It's been months now but I think the story recaps started around the time we booted off the earlyfag that liked making 2view threads, pretty sure the prompt recap started a few months after that as an effort of one anon that eventually got taken over by the new earlyfag since presumably they use a script to make them.
Also I think the ... thing came around from when the story recaps initially started it just got grandfathered in because it was getting mindlessly copied as part of the format.

I think it's not necessarily a net negative for the writing contest. The pool of people willing to write is quite small and it requires genuine interest, so that it will piss randoms off doesn't have to matter.
That someone interested is turned off from participating by the spam isn't necessarily more likely than that they learn about the contest like this and consider participating.

It's a long story. The abridged version is that we used to let the old thread fall off the board before making a new one. Then one day someone decided to make a thread early, which caused a massive shitstorm. Every thread since then has been made at bump limit, and at some point it get taken over by some schizo who would make the new thread with a bot. And any time someone else tries to make the new thread, he throws a fit and shits things up.
Usually his tantrums are confined to just /wg/, but this time he's let it spread to the catalog itself.

Anyway a catalog post made a joke about holoXcom vs Advent and it made me think there might be a fun rebellion story there... If you flip it so that holoX is at their peak secret society power and control the city while Advent is a group of rebel punks that just broke out of jail for revenge.
Would probably be an idea to keep in the backpocket for now. Despite Advent already settling into their roles it'll take time for their characters to really settle into something right.

I had vaguely remembered this as being the 'weaker' femboy suisei fic. After rereading, it was okay. The prose made the concept oddly cute though it could have done some more work describing where everything actually takes place since the narration kind of felt (for lack of a better word) VNesque in how it's kind of written with the expectation that it didn't need to do much description.

That was really fast. I like how things just went zero to 60 right from the get-go. I guess this is one of those self-insert fics since the protag was named, but I didn't mind it. For some reason, it gave me the image of a Kentucky neo-noir.
Though the motivation for Ame and even Gura got thin, I was still able to get on with whatever they were up to. As much as Joe was.
Fomatting could be improved, of course. This was the half-twisted son of normal prose and greentext. Still... I kind of liked it. It was enough to facilitate how fast the action was going. Good job, Joe, or whoever really wrote it.

Oh hey, a properly written script with decent prose? How do I not know about this one? Ok, they're in a club and... oh, it's a vomit fetish fic. That might explain why. As I said, the prose is decent and I would like for this author to write about running a bar or serving drinks at a club, but it's hard to give more feedback on a fetish that just isn't for me. I could of course say the vomit makes it a terrible story but that would be largely subjective if someone with a vomit fetish read it. I can say however that the abuse didn't feel very impactful -- there didn't seem to be enough descriptions to go with it and what it was doing to Calli.

Honestly I think that's more from the flaws of fistful of love rather than the concept itself. I think with this concept you kind of need another plot to drag the character dynamic of guy thinking the worst and girl thinking she's doing something nice along in order to keep it from running dry since without outside intervention it should fall apart when the guy notices she's not so bad. Thus the plot should be in keeping the misunderstanding going for as long as dramatically appropriate until they can actually fall in love... Or maybe I'm just talking out of my ass.
