Er... it was decent, I guess. The straightforward dialogue was bland and felt like robots talking, but it was funny when the men told Fubuki about the conditions that they had. I can't comment on the sex because it wasn't my kind of smut, though it did feel a little short.

I have to agree with the other anon, this entire thing felt wooden and bland, from the description to the dialogue, not even the fucking smut could redeem this since it just felt like it was 'telling' rather than 'showing'.
If you're a new author then skip this part but if you're who I think you are weirdanon2, then you could have absolutely have done better than this. Come on, even the worst of PD;PT suffering from series fatigue at least had some reasonably hot smut scenes. This was like a sandwich with white bread for the outside and white bread as filling.

I found it by just cruising the board one day, and checked it out. I had written a few fanfic pieces like over 10 years ago, and I had a real enjoyment for it, but I kinda dropped it as a hobby. Seeing the anons here writing cool stories and having fun with it inspired me to start my own, the one I always felt like I wanted to tell. So here I am.

That first posting is always the hardest. You may feel embarrassed or worried how your work might be received, but you gotta just take that plunge and put it out there. The most important thing about the writing we all want to do is to have fun with it. Let your own story take you along its journey and the good time you'll have with it will extend to your writing and it'll come out just fine. Also remember, getting feedback both positive and negative, is a great gift. The important part is how you take that all in. Nice words are great, they make you feel proud and satisfied, but constructive not so nice words can be just as powerful and positive. You can use that to better your skills and give your characters even more life to them. You can do this anon. Write that story your heart wants you to tell, and share with the world like it's meant to be.

Just finished chapter 18 and am going to probably do Kafka later today so long as my energy keeps constant. I know what I'm going to do for it, the problem just remains that after this specific chapter, all that's left is a certain nieche fetish that most people are not very into. I've been debating whether or not to delve into it since I started.

Back then when streaming sites weren't that popular, I got into writing CLANNAD fanfics just so I could have more CLANNAD. Eventually I got my hands on the VN itself and wrote even more fics.

It's structured like a bunch of conversations or tales told by a chuuba or character on what they see happening between Suisei and Anon. So basically you know everything second hand like a detective or a friend.
I've wondered if the detective should just be Amelia or an self-insert apart from Anon.

So I would start off by saying you gave a little more flavor and explanation to your background bits, the introduction of the higher powers was kinda interesting. With other things in the chapter however, there are still some gaps. When Lui explains how she didn't get jobbed because of her gift, her simple naming of the gift tells me next to nothing. I also feel like Lui would be the type to explain in articulate detail about what she has done. The part right after that was also awkward to read from an imagery perspective, since you got someone carrying another over their shoulder, kicking a head over to present itself as evidence, and then the person they're carrying is suddenly halfway to the ground? I'm having trouble picturing what the fuck actually happened there since you didn't describe that Lui dropped Polka in the first place, or even how that happened. The scenes themselves can use a little more flowering in that regard, but how they are might just be a byproduct of your current writing pace. I also feel like the interaction between Civia and Anon was a little awkward. In the current state of affairs, you can paint a better picture about how he is putting on a brave face so he can be polite and welcoming. The part about Civia's cost to use her power was also lacking a little detail. I have to imagine you pictured in your head exactly what is missing and where, put that in there. I do think you did a better job conveying stressed and hurt body language in the following scene though, try to keep actions and showcases of emotion like that in mind for other scenes. Overall, the information conveyance has improved a little, but I think your work can really shine if you give extra imagery to your scenes.

Oh that's an interesting way to tell a story. I've always wanted to see a chuuba fic do something where the reader has to piece together what's happening by themselves. Too bad a fic that does this with a gimmick of finding all the clues and building up the URL to the final chapter would probably be way too high effort for a simple fanfic.
Also what's wrong with having it be ambiguous if the detective is Ame or an unnamed detective? Unless I'm wildly off the board on how I'm guessing what this fic looks like it shouldn't matter right?

I re-read the scene and I think I see what you're getting at. I saw what she was doing in my head but didn't give enough description for it to properly translate. She was so fast that she let go of polka, kicked the head forward and had Polka back under her arm before she would've fallen to the ground, like she's faster than lightning.

I get the rest though. More description, more emoting and clearer action. I'll try to do that next chapter, especially since the next is going to be perfect for that sort of thing. I'll also start explaining more of how things work, Civia's gift along with Mel's plan. I think I am reaching the point in the story where I need to stop being so ambiguous for the sake of mystery.

Well, I have one final scene planned between the detective and Anon. So I have to settle whether I want the detective to be Watson or an OC self-insert.
The latter opens up for a new scene. Where the OC detective either gets the information he can from Watson. Alternatively I could just make Watson go over her notes.

Not knowing the overall plot I'm going to take a hard guess that the last minute twist will reveal that this isn't an alt!Suisei into "our world" fic but the exact opposite. A fic where "Our Suisei" slided into the alternate world
Honestly I have no strong preferences for detectives. Other than the fact that Ame already has alternate universe experience I don't really think there's going to be something that'll tip the scales more than what you the author want to write.

Now here's something I've had trouble with. I though of writing Suichan as if she had always been alt!Suisei, just with a bit more luck but hardened on the inside and harsh. Alternatively, the swap happened, but it's not brought up. The characters are mortals and don't have super powers, at most kemono are a thing.

Because I think any healthy relationship should have aspects that are separate from the other. If you do everything and share everything together, that becomes all you are, and it can be maddening.
