Oh boy...this is a horrifying but far too apt comparison. Antis will be calling her the Holo version of Aia, especially if her "collab" intention lecture go through. Then again, as much as we all hate Aia, she did do a few nice ASMR maid and yandere roleplays, so Shiori can still be worth occasionally watching, regardless of how bland she is otherwise. Maybe its similar to Finana regularly being an irredeemable whore, but also making some darn good apology ASMRs from time to time.
Considering Shiori has always shown glimpses of menhera tier potential (beating ASMR, toxic relationship advice, fully reviewing all the endings of a fucking guro hentai game), if/when she reveals some of her powerlevel, she will be worth watching. However, the vast majority of the time, she'll probably sit on the backburner with super vanilla/boring content on her /lit/ and "teacher" shtick. Considering all the early Shioricoin holders wanted a goth dommy mommy archetype, I think the femdom comparisons aren't necessarily wrong. Think about it, the most hyped PL video was her beating (you) up in ASMR, so we know what kind of fanbase she is attracting.
Sure, there are plenty of higher quality ASMR girls who genuinely enjoy it and do a proper job, but those are a dime a dozen. Let's be real, there are very few vtubers who do real top tier ASMR (minus Noel who is actually one of the best in the field). Fauna and anything else EN does is painfully mid in objective audio quality, but we watch since they are cute and convey a personality we have a semi-parasocial bond with. Compare that to a no-name VA we've never heard of giving an amazing performance on dlsite, and it just doesn't quite hit the same, even if their audio equipment, voice acting quality, and scripts are objectively more professional. Basically it comes down to having the option to watch HQ professional productions, versus a niche interest in watching amateurs completely butcher ASMR in a comedic way, especially when they are forced into pandering while cringing all the way (Kronii holosummer anyone?).
