You misunderstand. The saudis aren't buying these things for themselves, they are buying influence. They are eventually gonna own the olympics, FIFA, Formula 1 etc., and I mean the actual international organisations that govern those sports globally. They will own every anime studio, every video game publisher, they will eventually own all global entertainment. If vtubing grows big enough they will buy all the major corpos for it.

They do this because Saudi-Arabia has no industry aside from oil and the country is too barren and inhospitable for any other economic activity and the saudis themselves don't have the population or level of education / development to come up with anything themselves.
