It's not desperation. Europe is just ass from operations perspective. You have all the EU regulatory and customs stuff, it's just as far away from Japan as the US is, it's distant from both NA and east asian timezones, and it can't be easily integrated into any of the existing branches since europeans don't speak japanese/indonesian/english. Creating a separate branch for Europe is out of question because Cover's own metrics don't support the idea that europeans will come out in droves to spend money or engage with Hololive content.

The only option worth considering is trying to expand holoEN into the UK. Ireland is technically an english market but it's small and part of the EU. That said, brits have seen a steep decline in their purchasing power so I'd rule them out too just for that alone.
