This will have no impact on anyone else.
Small corpo fans are drawn to more unique individuals with more freedom and a closer relationship with their fans, there are also dozens and dozens of small corpo streamers so it's easier for people to find one that fits just right for them. The small corpos laso have tighter communities and all the members are closer.
They won't suddenly turn around and leave their vtubers because Cover released their new Gen.
Hololive in Japan is a different story but on EN Cover's girls are very stiff, very detached. Their relationship with their fans is very distant, they don't get along with each other all that much and they always keep things very serious. For better or worse I guess.
There's just no way a small corpo fan will move over to a Cover girl.
NijiEN is distinct from HoloEN for a few reasons mainly the males are fully integrated with the girls and they have a much higher ratio of female fans, the communities lean in that direction and both fans and streamers are more political. Fans of NijiEN won't find that in HoloEN unless HoloEN changes to be more like Nijisanji first.

What HoloEN gen 3 will do is attract some of the HoloEN fans that have left the company. Remember when HoloEN started they had 40k CCV's and through inactivity, stagnation and homo collabs they have gone down to around 15kccv, and this is at their best. The underperforming members have gone from a 6k to a 3k and so on. Give or take because numbers can go up and down.
Those thousands of viewers didn't go to NijiEN or to small corpos, they simply quit watching vtubers entirely.
Those are the viewers EN3 should try to appeal to, the old audience that lost interest.
HoloEN never lost its numbers to NijiEN or small corpos, it simply decayed on its own.

Very doubtful. The ultimate conclusion I've drawn is that for a fan it is much more worthwhile and fun to watch small corpos and indies, because they preserve the amateur spirit, there's constant back and forth between the chuubas and the audience and they are much more attuned to the general culture and quicker to adapt to changing situations. In terms of raw quality even there small corpos win out.

Basically EN3 will just keep HoloEN in the game, but it won't be some sort of Renaissance or a huge gain for them. It's a move out of raw necessity. But I'm not interested. Everything that is good about vtubing exists solely in the small corpo and indie scene.

Small corpo chuubas and indies are just as if not more entertaining than big corpo ones, it all depends on the girl though.

I left, went to NijiEN. Too much toxic bullshit, drama, chuuba I didn't care about jumping into each others streams. Drifted back to Hololive and realized some of the Council members that felt fake post-debut felt a lot more comfortable after a year.
Small corpos have a tendency to implode or become similarly rife with drama, or have CEOs that turn out to be schizos etc.

Pretty much. Small corps have a much better sense of freedom, both in the content they can make leading to some weird shit and in the games they can play due to not having to deal with Japanese permissions autism, as well as a much tighter sense of community due to being less known and not having as many viewers as a big corp. And then indies have even more of that freedom, at the cost of no support behind the scenes in case anything goes terribly wrong.
What Hololive does have over everyone else though is a clear goal, the whole idol stuff. Even if someone who's completely retarded and loves males makes it into there you can bet she's going to have an original song and dance like a cute girly idol on stage one day.
And Nijisanji is Nijisanji (lol).

Basically I'm happy with my decision to start paying attention to small corps, and while I'm going to check out the new Holos and try to follow most of their streams to get a better feeling of them, I can't see myself abandoning anyone. Sorry tribalfags

The problem with Hololive since 2019 is that there's not much more of a idol's journey or a cinderella story to watch any more.
