I am of the opinion that the decline isn't because of the mere existence of the en stars but it is still their "fault" because they came onto the scene when fans and viewers were desperate for new girls, talents we had were burnt out and not streaming (leading to loss of audience) and CLEARLY affected the timeline for a new gen of girls. That last part is not even a question at this point, they have reversed course now but at the time they really did want us to be happy with tempus as an EN3 replacement. They could have debuted with none of this baggage and far less bad sentiment aimed at them if management were not so retarded as to put the girls branch on hold and didn't try to shoehorn the homos into hololive.

As for JP fantasy onwards almost none of them collab with males and ones that previously did stopped doing it(with some exceptions) You know when people say

You could do that EASILY on the JP side, you could pretend stars didn't exist and had to actively go looking for the 5 or so talents out of 32 (before holox) who do that type of content.

EN has 10 talents, handful of them already not streaming much and then 4 of them jump on the homo train. 4/10 is a lot harder to ignore than 5/32.
If EN3 debuted just before tempus 1 I don't think half the seethe would have taken place - people see tempus as actively taking the place of girls, that is the main problem.
