Moderate hearing loss can be pretty disruptive. We're talking like unable to hear someone in a crowd or if there's music on. I knew a girl who was considered legally deaf even though her hearing aid helped her hear most conversations in her vicinity. Its just complex sound environments would fuck her up. She couldn't do voice chat in video games unless she muted the game.

Anyway, kanata's problem shouldn't be that severe since she has at least normal hearing in one ear. The physical problems apparently curtail as hearing gets worse, which I imagine is a bit bittersweet. There have been people who are totally deaf in one ear who've succeeded in music. Like Paul Stanley who literally doesn't have one. I'd say this is something pp tenshi can beat and she seems determined to.

Vertigo severity is indeed being considered as a secondary outcome. The one I'm thinking of is SPI-1005, which is currently in the process of enrolling for Phase 3. This is good news, but if you know anything about clinical trials, this is more or less the make or break stage (and most drugs break). Still, the core component (Ebselen) has shown to be effective based off anecdotes.

I think there are other drugs in the pipeline as well, but my knowledge of Meniere's related drug developments is limited as I only know of them due to it having some relation in symptoms to a problem I have. But I do know for sure it's being investigated and something may be on the horizon.

I used to think the same for their first 6 months, then they moved in together and i watched Coco slowly go crazy for my oshi, it wasn’t rare at all to watch one of her 2 hour-long zatsudans and hear her talk about Kanata the entire stream.
I don’t really see any hololive pairing as romantic, usually because it either feels like 2 friends who just like each other and enjoy hanging around together, it feels forced or there’s 0 roommate indication that either of them actually like women.

For me the beauty of this relationship, whatever it is, is that it doesn't need to be anything specific - romance or not the bottom line of them caring deeply about each other and supporting each other through many rough spots in their lives is very public so there's zero reason to worry about their "status". This doesn't hinge on assumptions or speculations even some more prominent ships live and die upon.

I've seen one interesting comment after Kanata broke into Coco's room to comfort her.
