Cover is really careful not to hire political nuts. Thats probably the first thing they look at when screening potential hires. They wouldn't want a ticking time bomb. People like that also literally don't shut the fuck up about their views so its really easy to just look at their social media and filter them. The same Vtubers most people enjoy now will fall out of favor and it might become a vicious cycle of hiring/retiring Vtubers. Whether if international companies like Samsung/Microsoft/Tencent will step in and try to compete in hololive’s market. Whether the technology involved will accelerate to greater levels where interaction between the streamer and the audience becomes akin to the real thing or the tech now it becomes so common-place that it loses its charm. Most people here would hate to see it become a fad and it becomes obsolete. Hololive is both a tech and entertainment company in a hyper-competitive market for online streaming. Reading about sad stuff like this, always makes me think about past series, games and manga. To the ones who aren't currently working, I wonder what happened to them. Did they lose their drive, their lives? Was the end result underwhelming and decided to find another job? All that unsold merchandise, was it all thrown into a landfill? Was it left to rot and sunbleach behind the store?
Everything ends, at some point, but it bums me out that these colorful characters or games didn't become the next big thing or didn't have the expected results, and were just cast aside, because in the end, it's just business.
