I mean objectively we are doing pretty well in terms of actual activity and discussion. The only thing regretful is that some of the good ideas from the dead threads haven't really gotten the time to shine.
In fact I kind of want to pick up that cyberpunk tragedy IRyS idea, though I'm having trouble coming up with a good cast for it.
I guess the obvious picks would be holoEN with cameos from the other gens as part of the death squads hunting (You) down. With Myth being from the first go around and Council being the dwindling party.

Who's the easiest chuuba to write, in you opinion?
I think Pomu and Gura both have really distinct voices and behaviors. Their dialogues always flow really easily.

Not at all. When the board reaches SEA hours and there's a stupid nothingburger or two for them to latch onto, it's just a way of life that the catalog will be filled with garbage and the current thread might be booted off. We told the worldbuidling dudes if they want to contribute and improve relations, they can try getting more involved with the fics we have that actually do decent worldbuilding and offer their feedback and whatnot. If they just wanna keep casting their shill line here, they ain't gonna get very far. It's not a sign of death that the thread gets bumped off by catalogers shitposting. Also, once you reach a cyberpunk setting, you can use any chuubas you want basically for your cast. Roboco is an easy include since the tech is easily there to support her existence. It's all up to you.

Without a summary post these ideas developing out of discussions are hard to properly anchor to the prompt anchor post, sadly. So if there's an especially interesting idea developing it'd be good to put it in the prompt archive, and to mention that it was done.
The prompt archive feels underdiscussed and -used currently.

I've been told my Pomu comes off very naturally and readers can really hear her voice within her dialogue. Flare also seems to come rather easily for me, and Botan is quickly getting that category too.

Since there's some discussion about the thread already, I want to ask if there has been any updates/developments about the writing contest that was planned?

Honestly I think it's better for thread discussion generated ideas to get the fujocast prompt treatment. Get all those posts compiled into a gdoc and have it be in the story archive so someone can actually stumble on it randomly rather than the prompt archive... Though this speaks more about how the prompt archive is kind of failing its purpose rather than how effective the archiving a prompt collection as a story is.

While she's a straight man at times, Polka and Watame can bring out that more easy going side of her. When the two aren't saying something completely ridiculous. She's also a has a really fun and contagious laugh once she gets going. For me, she is the most level headed of the group, able to keep focus easily, and tries not to dilly dally too much, but that said, she has her slight mischievous side as well, which can shine when teasing others in her own way. The more important thing I keep in mind, is that she's cool in that way that she's confident, but there are times she knows she isn't invincible.

If I knew any chuuba outside of the holosphere well enough, they'd honestly be a perfect way to setup that this 'loop' wasn't doomed from the start since they'd be a great way to have a 'third act twist'.

Too bad womb tattoos are kind of in a weird spot when it comes to writing about them. Half of the appeal is in the visuals giving the character a feeling of corruption and enforced horniness. That's kind of lost in writing so you have to explain that half while relying on their other half of being a magic smut plot device to carry the rest of the story.

I gotta agree with you for the most part. Now that I think about it, I could potentially write one as a device to unleash max horniness and kinks. The idea that there are temporary magic runes to do that kinda thing is pretty acceptable within the world I've written. I also considered describing Choco with one anyway since I feel like it would add some extra flair to things.

It could just be something like a generic pleasure rune that could get overloaded for maximum sensitivity and horniness. Not talking specifically about HJ here but I think writing wise something like that could be easier to explain without having to effectively do an entire spiel shilling the womb tattoos and its sex appeal. I.e something like that idea from monster girl encyclopedia explaining the tattoos on certain monster designs.

Also slightly related, I have thought of a cute idea where either Anon starts a demi-human field guide of sorts from all his experiences OR Pomu finds him a degenerate book on the mating habits and known weak points of demi-humans. The latter option also allows an opportunity to combine both of them, since he will just add to the entries things he found out that weren't currently in there.

Is Lord of the Board finished? I might set it up in the next few days if I feel motivated enough and nobody else (who would honestly be better suited) steps up. There's a couple things I want to finalise, though.
We shouldn't need to make a seperate thread for the contest right? We can have a /wg/ thread as usual and have an extra post for the contest included.
Secondly, are we going with the rule that all fics need to be submitted to an email address? I personally believe linking your story to a separate "contest anchor" in the thread would be better, where the stories are stored in a separate archive people can access at any time to read. Obviously there will be a gap between the end of the submission period and the beginning of the voting period, but I feel like it will drum up more excitement seeing other anons also participating in the competition rather than everyone submitting anonymously. If potential contestants see the contest archive being filled with stories it might motivate them to jump in. A silent contest with no updates until the voting period sounds a bit sad. Releasing all the submitted stories at once might also overwhelm the readers. Allowing stories to be accessed the moment they're complete will give them more time to read everything.
If I'm going to set the contest up I'd really like to go with the contest anchor and separate archive method rather than a submission to an email with a mass fic release. What do you guys think?

From what I know so far, she's just a bumbling simpleton with an aversion to speaking directly to people. You'd be fine just making her as soft spoken and adding some stutters here and there. I finally figured out how I want to advance the plot for Balsa. While the Wata-Civia subplot is going to be a slow burn that gives them both some heart, I'm finding the anon training arc is feeling more like filler than story so in the next one to two chapters you'll be seeing something very exciting. Also got a good character arc for Koyori planned in the meantime.

I'm about halfway done with the next chapter so (hopefully) it will be released relatively soon. Sorry it's taken so long. Just got stumped and I didn't want to rush things.

It's great, the prose is evocative without being verbose, which is an issue I tend to suffer from. The dice system is also a lot of fun, reminds me of my questing days, I never considered using something like that without having the readers do the roll, but it does add this nice element of unpredictability to the encounters, I kinda want to start something with a similar dynamic.
Similarly I began HoloJourneys, but that's even more chewing, I'm questioning reading just the last chapter to review it before going back to the start, but I'm not sure how standalone the chapters are.
