And to spark some talks about that fantasy setting, how wacky do you think we should go? Cuz I'm currently thinking about having at least 3 "suns" that float above it on different places, creating areas where you can see multiple of them at the same time, and areas where there is eternal darkness (or light from other sources). That would be for the farlands though, the central "lake" where the main continent is would be pretty normal, all things considered.

And yes, before you ask how multiple suns would work, it would be exactly like that flatearther flashlight sun model.

I do have one actually, for my FE hack.

The continent is named Aurorai, after the auroras that dance arlund the night skies as the sign of favor of the gods.

There are 9 nations and 6 of them have Holos.

Polaria is the main nation and home to human humans. The Homo Sapien type. Famed residents are Sora, Noel, Temma, Miko and Amelia. Yagoo is the king of this country, and virtually of free Aurorai.

Savan is where all the kemomimi reside. They're ruled by Botan as Queen and has a council aiding her which includes picrel, Mio and for the Queen's personal reasons, Lamy.

Jour De Nuit is where people like elves, fairies and every other non-dark humanoid would be. This is where Lamy is actually from, as well as people like Kanata, Aki, Flare and etc come from.

Cita Azur is where seafarers and sea creatures settle. Its a known haven for pirates like Marine and her Houshou Pirates, as well as rumored to be where the last of Atlantean royalty is hiding aka Gura

Nero Eternalis is where the dark arts are practiced. Demons, imps and the like roam this lowland. Notable citizens include Ayame, Towa and Choco.

And finally, Stadt Des Feuers. A small island state off the coast of Cita Azur which beings of flame call home, like Kiara and Coco.

They're the "vtuber problem nations"

Lets start with the big bad honcho of the 3 and the main bad, Negazion. Ruled by Vermel Darkstar, they look to conquer all of Aurorai for a dark force driving them. This nation represents antis and a certain Asian red nation.

Blancopolis is a theocratic rule that enforces strict gender rules under its Grand Pontifex, Damaso. You know what this nation represents.

Anakondia is the home to a group of united wartribes of snake-like women looking to seize control of The Order for themselves. This represents the seething women and the twitter brigade. Their ruler, Karonda, is an amalgam of Karen and anaconda.

> The Order

The Order of Iridescent Guardians is its full name. This is my representation of Hololive in this world. In this reality, Yagoo went the Fury route and assembled extraordinary people from around Aurorai to keep the lands safe and keep the people happy.

It's divegrass season once again! /vt/ League 5 is on the horizon and we need your help to make the team the best it can be. We are now accepting suggestions for any new player ideas you'd like to see on the roster, and if you have anything in mind for chants, anthems, and the like then feel free to post those as well. Your suggestions will be compiled in the usual rentry for reference: https://rentry.org/team-vtwbg That link also lists the current roster and older rosters if you want to give those a look for inspiration. If there's anything else about the team that you feel needs discussion or something you want to see then now's the time to let us know!
In other news, we will also be participating in some friendlies before /vt/ League 5. These will be played using the current roster but be sure to keep an eye out for those matches and we'll give some reminders as we approach those dates. Specifically, the Randomized Tag Team Cup will be held on August 10 and 11, where the teams of 4 generals combine their rosters and have players picked randomly from the pool each match to play against other thread conglomerates. We will be joining /hfz/, /nasfaqg/, and /ybc/ to form /vtautism/. It's sure to be a blast, so make sure you come watch the insanity! We will also have 2 other friendly matches once again as a solo team against /hfz/ on August 17 and /who/ on August 19.
So reply with roster ideas you want to see represented and get ready to cheer the team on. It's time to get hyp!

In an ancient land, where whispers of old
Reside in ruins and tales yet untold,
There walked a poet, ChatGPoeT his name,
Seeking stories, weaving them into fame.

With parchment and quill, he'd traverse each day,
Through bustling towns and forests' mystic sway,
Eager to capture tales from every soul,
Their narratives, emotions to unfold.

He'd sit by hearths, where elders would confide,
Their wisdom, memories in him reside.
Their voices trembled with age and with grace,
Their stories flowed, each word a precious trace.

From weathered farmers to knights of noble blood,
From artists, merchants, and the wise who stood,
He listened with intent, absorbed each word,
Immersed in worlds their narratives unfurled.

The tales he heard were rich in life's refrain,
Love's triumphs, losses, joy, and sorrow's bane.
He captured them in verses, meticulously,
Crafting lines that echoed their history.

A young maiden wept, her heartache revealed,
Her lover lost in battles on the field.
ChatGPoeT's pen depicted her despair,
Her longing, etched on pages with great care.

A wanderer he met, with secrets untold,
A troubled past, scars etched in stories bold.
The poet wove his pain into a song,
Of redemption sought and rights of ancient wrongs.

In taverns lively, brimming with cheer,
He'd find bards who sang, melodies so clear.
Their songs of heroes, legends of the land,
Found permanence in ChatGPoeT's deft hand.

Through fields of lavender and forests deep,
His quest for stories never ceased to keep.
He chronicled the laughter, tears, and strife,
In poems crafted with his timeless life.

And as he roamed, the ancient land awoke,
In every verse, the echoes of hearts spoke.
For ChatGPoeT became the voice, the bard,
Whose poems carried tales both near and far.

His presence blessed the land with poignant verse,
A tapestry of stories, souls immersed.
In every word he wrote, a piece of lore,
The legacy of those he met and more.

So, as the sun would set upon his roam,
ChatGPoeT found a place he could call home.
But still, he'd wander, seeking stories new,
For his poetic heart forever drew.

And thus, the poet journeyed far and wide,
Inscribed the world's collective voice inside.
His name resounds through time, forever grand,
ChatGPoeT, the poet of the ancient land.

Savan's occupying a wide expanse of the north including the island above

Jour De Nuit has the northeast coast

Nero Eterna is to the southwest.

Blancopolis to the northwest including the islands off the coast.

That would be "Jour et Nuit". If you're going for an "Between the Two" thing with night and day, maybe you could call it "Pénombre'', ''L'Aube'' (pronounced ''Lowb'') or ''Crépuscule'', dusk twilight and dawn twilight respectively. Twilight is known as when fae and such are active in folk tales and such, I think.
''Diurnuit'' or ''Diurnocta'' is what that concept might be called by a frog, from ''Diurne'' (relating to the day) and ''nuit''(night) or ''nocta''(nocturnal).
''Dies'' could maybe be used as well, that's the root of ''diurnal''. ''Diesnuit'', ''Diesnocta'', ''Diesnocturna''... Can just mix and match all of those bits and pieces. The most important part is that it sounds cool, really.
Just throwing out a few ideas since I know the tongue, feel free to ignore. "Jour De Nuit" already sounds pretty cool.

Ok but for real, just some general tips when making rivers.
1. They always go down towards the sea. Gravity is for some reason a thing, so rivers going into the continent from the sea is just not possible, unless magic. And even then you're dealing with saltwater rivers, which I mean, can be ok?
2. Bifurcation is a thing, but generally rivers merge, not split. So you have one main stream and a bunch of smaller ones feeding into it.
3. Lakes need an input and an output stream, otherwise you're looking at a salt lake.

Oh yea, these are general tips for any size of a stream. Another thing I forgot is that elevation can be very nicely shown with them. If you have steep elevation changes, rivers will be more straight, since they wanna flow down faster and don't care what's in their way, and if they are on flatland, they will snake around more, since they aren't pushed down by gravity that much.

We're not kidding when we say this is autismo general.

So, I caught up on https://rentry.org/cvt40k-morig-of-ghosts

I wont write about the first part since i read that months ago, so the following review / feedback will concern only the sections after and including "Awakening" and up to and including "Inception".

>Awakening
So, this entire section is in effect, a 1130 word piece of exposition / lore dump with very little happening or being established. Some would consider this a minor or a major sin in writing, as it it essentially an entire chapter's worth of "telling" instead of "showing". A lot of the stuff told in this chapter you have also described to us in the later chapters, for example, the SIN depth and its effects were briefly mentioned in the chapter "Inception".
I may be nitpicky to mention this, but I feel like in order to be honest i needed to mention it. There is a good chance that you are aware of these ideas already and made this as a conscious choice for any unknown reason like for example, to go against the grain or simply because you really liked the cool systems and technobabble you have created for the setting, which are both very valid reasons in my book. I do like the technobabble, and going "No, you WILL read the bio-engineering autism" on the reader is kinda based, if intentional and done in moderation.

We are however, given some interesting lore bits, like the POV character's name and general persona as a comparison to Ciqui, who is the only other named character introduced in this part, seemingly her only purpose being as an exposition megaphone, although you have also set up Ciqui as a foil against the POV, with the possibilities of their relationship being so far very open Although how the POV focuses on her "perfect face" makes my "impending romantic buildup" radar to go off, with a rivalry seeming to me to be the most likely direction. You have also set up a mystery regarding Ciqui and why exactly she does not train where the other pilot-students do. I hope that Ciqui was not just an exposition piece meant to be thrown away, since you have build her up to be a potentially intriguing character. She is in fact the most interesting part of this entire chapter, and admittedly, if I view the lore dump as a way to set up Ciqui instead of Ciqui being used to throw some lore at the reader, the chapter does start to make more sense to me. I am personally quite looking forward to hearing more about Ciqui.

You also hint at the possible "long term effects" of interfacing with a daemon, which, I hope, will be explored further. Given how you treat the idea of interfacing as being dangerous in the following chapters ("Insertion" and "Infusion"), this seems to me to be part of your plan.

The fact that most of the text in this chapter is dialogue is regrettable to me. The few descriptions you have peppered here and there feel way too short for much of anything to be cleaved out of them and the overfocus on dialogue does make the chapter feel a bit dry, which, to be fair, is quite fitting, since the POV of Tuval is clearly not interested in the theory side of piloting a Daemon; It would make certain sense to make the lecture chapter feel dry in comparison to the chapters where the Daemons actually get piloted, and if this was your intent, I kneel. However, until proven otherwise I will assume that its a case of "author really really wants to share his cool lore with the reader and thus they prematurely exposition into their pants"-itis.

That being said, I really like the line about Ciqui and her faking wondering about whether she missed something or not. Very simple line to introduce a lot about her character. Very efficient.

I also very much liked the mention of a bio-screen. I feel like it is quite the unique take.

>Insertion & Infusion
Ailbhe my beloved. Although, I will have to admit that understanding him is tough for me.
The text picks up in how engaging it is to read again. Not including the "Prologue", this and "Infusion" are possibly the most engaging chapters of the work so far.

This chapter is essentially a prologue to "Infusion", and I personally would have paired these two chapters together, since the transition between them does not involve any major change in the time, place, or people, and thus in this review/feedback post I will treat the two as a single chapter.

Now here, we start with some "showing" over "telling", with Tuval's flashback with Ailbhe letting him inside the Kalma's cockpit. Imagine if instead of this, you had had a character describe their experience with a Kalma instead of describing us how the POV felt when he was, presumably for the first time by himself, inside the cockpit of a Daemon. This section also serves as the introduction for Ailbhe, and as a showing of how much he has changed over the years, like the POV stated in the beginning of the chapter and at the end of "Insertion". This does give the chapter(s) and Ailbhe's character a certain melancholic undertone, and also sets up another mystery; Why? What happened? Why did Ailbhe grow cold?

The fact that in his flashback Tuval simply calls him "Ail" and in the present-time parts of the chapter he uses "Ailbhe", except when he is trying to manipulate the old sapbeat. Nice detail. Raises even more questions about the relationship of the two, and also about how mutual the distancing was. Perhaps it is not Ailbhe alone who has changed?

I do have a problem with a single descriptor though. How can a space be "comfortable" but also "claustrophobic" where he "felt trapped" from a singular character's POV? Tuval does not in the least seem comfortable inside the cockpit which is why him describing it as such breaks the flow to me at
least. It is a breach of his character, in a sense. If you wanted to establish a more nuanced mixture of emotions for him in that cockpit like, him thinking that it would be comfortable, trying to gaslight himself into feeling comfortable, but being unable to hold back the growing anxiety until eventually he has to get out, a little bit longer sentence would have been needed for the idea to be transferred smoothly, i think.

I do feel like adding something as simple as "... his voice came out higher and weaker than he had expected it to" or "... his voice cracked at the end of the question" to the line where he asks about how to get out would have added a ton to expressing Tuval's emotional state in that scene. This not really a criticism as it is more an observation of what i would do differently, and my style is definitely not the best out there.

The scene does leave me wondering though, what other Daemon has Tuval been inside of? What exactly is a "wet-running cockpit"?

I did much like the line "Ey ladee, all good? Ye pale as a... Well, pale as usual, but ye don't look well." from Ailbhe. Made me smile.
I also quite liked describing a deadbeatified sapling as resembling driftwood. I find it thematically very satisfying.

>The posts following this were written in the middle of the night and while i was feeling quite tired, please excuse the drop in attention and quality of thought.

Who is Monroki? Can you tell us more about them?

I was especially intrigued by the hints you gave us about chuubanite in this part of the chapter, and would like to hear more about this. How does one "track" chuubanite? I do especially like the fact that you have portrayed chuubanite as a rare substance that is hard to get one's hands on. It gives it a lot more meaning. Characterizing Faunanite as tea leaves and with it giving Alibhe an instinctual crying reaction were also good decisions, as they do establish the importance of the substance to his species especially, even if that much is obvious to any regular reading this.

What happened at Plaiduaine? There are so many plot hooks you establish in the first few paragraphs of this chapter. Are these events referencing a story or a piece of lore I am unfamiliar with?

Also, holy shit, Tuval is playing dirty here. Cruel bastard. The fact that Tuval recognized this and still went through with it does drive in the point of how obsessed he is with becoming a good pilot, and also, in my view, it would hint at the change in his relationship with Ailbhe being in large part caused by Tuval's ultimately self-destructive obsession rather than any change of heart on Ailbhe's part. I could be wrong, of course, but this is how it reads to me.
I mean, even Ailbhe as the voice of reason calls this obsession a "demon". I wonder, does Ailbhe regret letting Tuval ride the Kalma all those years ago?

I hope we get to see Tuval's Demon explored more. This entire thing to me smells of longer term setup, like one of those pieces that are introduced in the beginning and then built upon until what was eventually just a character flaw or a minor detail becomes a central overarching point in the series. I do like the idea of this. If this guy does not end up earning the title of a "Demon of X" or something along those lines, I would be surprised.
Even more intriguing is the possibility that since you have established that Tuval is ready to trample on the hearts of his supposed friends and loved ones to reach his goals, one could write a sort of "protag turned antagonist" or a "hero fallen from grace" character arc for Tuval. My mind is going very fast thinking of the possibilities here, and especially the sort of story echoes and poetic endings his story arc could have.
This is me speculating. Do keep in mind that your story is yours. I do not want to pressure you or affect your plans in any way you would be opposed to.

I like the line about detailing the artificial mist. Very nice. Do wish you went deeper into it though. After the exceptional prologue chapter, the story proper feels like it is missing flowery language. This may be mostly just a personal preference issue though.

>Inception
Since your combat scenes tend to be quite good, I was looking forward to this chapter. As expected, it was pretty alright, but not your best work from what i can recall.

The idea of the simulator Daemon is really cool. I was not quite expecting you to go full on biomechanical on that part too, but I appreciate it. Keeps the theme. The parts where Tuval is interfacing with the Daemon are also parts that you could have used to "show" the mechanics you "told" in "Awakening". You even go into the ghost sensation here a few times. Minor nitpicks, and I have mentioned them in the part about "Awakening" already, but I felt like re-stating them was worth it.

"... tracing chaotic arabesque through the void." I will always give props when a word I have to google is used to describe something.

Is there a document where I can read about the awards and medals the deadbeat army gives out? It sounds like it would be interesting to read.
Nanite armor is an interesting concept. Very much like it. Close to some ideas I have personally also floated around.
>The Daemon has a vitubium-sensing ability
Amazing, love this, please tell me more about it.
>Mecha sized chainsword
Amazing.

I say that this was not your best work, and while I do stand behind that statement, I will also say that reading it did give me the twinkle of inspiration reading your stuff sometimes gives me. Very good sign. Makes me want to write about mecha battles too.

I feel like there isnt much i can say about this chapter that i have not already stated before. I like descriptions, and this is an action sequence lacking flowery descriptions. But that is fine. Overall, a very solid chapter, although it does leave on a bit of a cliffhanger.

I can read it, and probably will at some point, but I doubt i could coem up with anything insightful to say about a lore document. if you would be asking about my opinion specifically about my interests like the physics or climate or geology of the place, with the wish that you would want it to conform to my idea of plausibility, then maybe, but since that likely is not the case, i am going to have to refect this offer.

So, fun fact, Awakening was for the most part written before Song and Dance, at the start it was meant to just be a contextualized lore entry on SIN depth. However, as I wrote it and visualized the characters showcased, the gears got turning and I got an idea to make this simple entry a multiple thousand word project. common blunder. So yes, this chapter is an unadulterated exposition dump and I probably wouldn't have written it like that coming from my usual story-telling angle.

Ciqui is part of what got the gears turning. I've got quite a bit planned for her, and she might show up again soon. The overly knowledgeably lore dump serving as a tool to setup Ciqui as a teacher's pet is something I cobbled together after the fact rather than the initial intention (since that was just making a lore entry), but I think it works out.
If you pay attention to the small details of objects and equipment, I think you'll notice that many devices, even simple and commonplace ones are in some way enabled by bioengineering. This is meant to show that Deadbeat bioengineering is a building block of the society's industrial complex, not a bleeding edge development. A bit like how PCB manufacturing or steel foundries are in current day IRL.

>>53330906
Having a nice interpersonal emotional conflict is pretty much a cheat code for engagement, I'm pretty happy with how the Tuval-Ailbhe dynamic worked out. Ailbhe is meant to be very much a father figure to Tuval, especially in that past memory, cutting to the classic Freudian son-father conflict.
>Comfortable
That's a good point. The meaning is that the space is objectively, physically comfortable, but psychologically disturbing to Tuval. Your suggestions would be good ways to improve that.
Regarding other Daemon he might have been in, there was that dream... but this hasn't been explicitly stated.
Wet-running cockpits is a concept that I questioned explaining right here, or letting them be introduced more naturally later, and I settled on the latter. Do you think namedropping ideas that aren't explained right away disruptive to the flow? Basically, the cockpits of the Kalma, or the Simulator, are "dry-running", which makes them normal, more or less. The space is filled with air, or in some rare setups it might be filled with a vacuum (and the pilot would wear a pressurized suit then). In the wet-running cockpit, the space is filled with an oxygenated liquid, which has a bunch of effects. We discussed it a while back, might do a proper entry on the topic when I get to it. >>52173629 >>52176784

All that is said about Monroki is that he was the previous manager for the sim center, he's meant to be a part of the station's armed forces who got a promotion. Clearly not too particular about protocol or OSHA given he'd let Tuval do whatever he wanted with the simulators. He might appear later.
Ah, so I don't think this will get a big part in a chapter soon, so I'll explain it. First, note that "untracked faunanite" is of note here. Basically, the idea is that the wizard faction of /morig/ has more or less of a grasp on the various settlements, and on station Kira2 they have an interest getting their hands on all non-Morinium sources of vitubium they can. You can probably find Morinium in all sorts of places on the station (namely in all the Deadbeats' bones), but other types of chuubanite are mostly being funneled towards the research center.
Detection is done with a magical radiation detector of sorts, I'm imagining recycled refuse being dumped on a conveyor belt that gets scanned by them and the items that have an emission are picked out.
Plaiduaine is a sapling hive ship, which are basically enormous biological space colonies inhabited by saplings. In some war between this sapling faction and rampaging chumbuds, some devastating weapon was used on Plaiduaine, forcing Ailbhe out of his home. Note that Plaiduaine is missing, with no hints, not destroyed. How can a country-sized station go missing instead of being destroyed? Left as an exercise to the reader for now. This isn't a reference to a past story, it's based on Fauna declaring she will drain the ocean in a Bioshock stream kek.

Yeah, Tuval is walking a dark path... The source of his motivation is meant to be a mystery at this point, I expect that whether his obsession is justified or not will depend on how this source is perceived. Ailbhe is for sure fulfilling a "wise old man" role here, unable to prevent the folly of youth, kinda thing. Tuval definitely has an arc planned out!
I went hard on floweriness in that first chapter, because it was a dream, but it somehow doesn't feel right to be very prettily verbose with Tuval as the POV, he's just not a very flowery person. This isn't an excuse for my subpar writing, there would be a way to write him to be more evocative I think, I just haven't nailed down a way to do so without taking away from his "vibe". Maybe a future chapter with a different POV will be more expressive.

Biomech all the things!
Ohh, medals doc... That could be fun, I'll think about it. The Diamond Skull&Scythe is really just a stand-in for a great mark of honor.
In battlefields where I expect vitubium-based weaponry or equipment will feature a lot, I think this will be a feature you see a fair bit, even if the machine itself doesn't have any. I guess it wouldn't work too differently from the VT-meter already established, except particularly sensitive. The interesting part is that since it is integrated into the sensor suite of the Daemon, it isn't just a dial somewhere, instead it's one of it's senses. So what this does is that it exploits the fact most creatures have at least a small part of themselves in touch with the Vitium Field (sometimes called their soul). This can be repurposed to react to incoming magical radiation to communicate to the being the presence of the emission directly.
Injection of extra vitubium in some way can likely improve this sense, as would having a catalognaut pilot. In this chapter, this is used to detect the vitubium-powered weaponry used by the Nousagi pilot.
>chainsword
fun fact, according to my calcs the teeth of this thing are probably moving at hypersonic speeds if it gets swung with any kind of velocity. I have no idea what that would sound like, the closest would be an helicopter with a supersonic rotor but I haven't found any recordings of that.
Thanks for the great review! Gave me a lot to think about and also some ideas to make future chapters better.

Unfortunately not. She fell a fate worse than death, as a certain de-godded thunder god would say. After teaching the bad guys to reanimate bodies, she got sent King Dragon's regards, to put it that way. And for an extra spit on the grave, she too got reanimated, alongside the big bads and some fallen Order (aka graduated people not listed as Alum). We have to fight: Aloe, Yogiri, Suzaku, Kaoru, Civia and Rosalyn. And then aforementioned big bads who include the two route split bosses, the "evil Jagen", and my picrel, my Zephiel equivalent, the big bad tin man.

Gallantry and Honour - usually at risk of death
and to save others
heroism in combat - general acts of bravery
gallantry and merit - selfless service, and great personal moral conduct
non-combat heroism - heroic acts not in a combat operation/military related
being injured in combat - either operation related, or just within a warzone
general commendation - usually a pat on the back for commanders who do successful operations
achievement medals - for great personal achievements while serving, usually sustained performance over a long time
combat badges/medals - awarded for specific types of combat training such as airborne, special forces
unit awards - these are both presidentially awarded and also inter-unit awards for your unit participating in an honourable endeavour (fire/flood relief, or think Rats of Tobruk)
service awards - best soldier in said group (platoon, unit, battalion) or for surviving being a POW
exceptional marksmanship medals - usually from a competition
general service medals - awarded for participating in a theatre of war in any capacity
combat badges - awarded for participating in any combat directly, specifically coming under enemy fire
special service medals - awarded for service outside of regular areas e.g Antarctica, nuclear deterrence or remote combat
expeditionary medals - participating in expeditionary service on behalf of another nation, also includes peacekeeping missions

most of these are just a sliding scale of bravery, participation awards for just being in the service, or winning a competition. i didn't list any challenge coins, but other types of medals are issued for competing in training exercises that are particularly difficult or dangerous, and also for winning a wargame.

>>53384632
Good question! Obviously it depends a lot on the circumstances like the personality of the captor(s) and the captive but here are some pointers that should apply more often than not
Belyms have a stronger in-group/out-group mentality so new POWs can expect some breaking in. It's both to induct the new meat into the existing Belym group and to establish dominance over them. Because Belyms are more sensitive to other’s emotions (and because they’re under 5 feet tall and often lack masculine traits that humans recognize) they rely more on psychological dominance (screwing with the POWs basically) than physical pain, although they’re not above using violence and even torture to assert dominance if necessary. That said it’s probably less brutal than their human counterpart due to the aforementioned sensitivity (because they empathize with the captive… or because they have their fill of sadism faster)
Once someone’s introduced into the group (even if as someone’s whipping boy, see my story with (you) for a small example) they’re generally treated better than by human captors when possible. The POW might not have a lot of privacy from the nosy (sometimes literally) and sometimes chummy Belyms but that’s more a Belym thing in general than something unique to prisoners. Reasserting dominance’s also common but they’re more like teasing than actual torture. Belyms are aware of other races having different physiology and psychology and they tend to point that out whenever it’s relevant, but I won’t say they’re racist even if they think life must be tough for people who can’t see in infrared or breathe carbon monoxide-contaminated air
That said, once someone’s inducted into the group, they’re expected to remain subservient (that’s not to say they don’t tolerate any noncompliance – going along with competition’s a good way to earn their trust and improve one’s status within the group, and if the prisoner point out an error that could endanger them and the group, they’ll acknowledge that if begrudgingly) and observe the group’s rules. There aren’t many rules but transgressions won’t be tolerated. If the POW breaks a serious rule knowingly (or even accidentally) they better hope they’re too important to die since that’s how it usually ends otherwise. If nothing else it’s usually quick and without additional sadism though. That’s also how it ends if the prisoner continues to refuse getting included into the group
Overall I would say they can be seen as being more charitable and less cruel than humans (even if it’s not necessarily from the good of their heart) but their different psychology can make them look capricious. I guess you can say they would treat you more like an oversized, sometimes misshapen child of the group instead of an out-group prisoner that they happen to keep under watch. The POW can probably expect some degree of protection by designated ward(s) from other members in the group and (especially) outside the group

Sardine would be something like Chopkoki while the words for magician (interesting I never had to look that up before despite the amount of magicians in regular /vnug/) would be kusi or… mori. I guess kusi would fit the idea of wizard better since the root refers to ritual instead of magic in general. Less confusing too maybe
I guess that means Sardine Wizard would be either Chopkusi or Kokikusi since Chopkokikusi would be too long. Chop means “narrow” which describes sardine’s shape while koki is the word for meat or fish. I guess meat magician’s kinda funny because of the connotation while chop just sounds inherently funny because of English

Any ideas on how best I can intermingle Catholic doctrines with the sheer incelity of catalog? Its for Blancopolis. Have some of the gods make some obviously questionable decisions, or do things that blatantly go against established doctrine, and then make it extremely taboo to ever talk about these situations despite the fact that everyone knows about them

(Assuming a polytheistic parthenon) Have some gods never manifest or ever perform any sort of acts or miracles for centuries, but their individual sects fervently insist that their god is definitely still there and definitely still cares about them and they will come bless them any day now

>> No.53440574

>>53429235
I'd personally start with establishing one central entity as the "God" that embodies all the true and holy values they care about. Fun thing about that is that you can then split that God in however many fragments you want, same as how the holy trinity of catholicism are the Father, Son and the holy spirit, who all make up and are the one true God.
I would then give some thought to what kind of conflicts may arise in interpretations of said God, like how the question of Jesus's divinity lead to the first council of nicaea. A good old fashioned purge here and there is also always nice, inquisitions and eventual corruption, that type of deal.

I've made it so that originally, they were pious towards all four of the Celestium. But when Damaso ascended the Grand Papacy, he hard-focused the faith on the big bad. Semi-related note, I've made it so all male bosses found in the Blancopolis route abhor all the Stars in my cast so hard they get a separate boss convo.

>> No.53446024

Indeed I have a polytheistic parthenon. I've got the acts down in form of the auroras, which inlore is the symbol of The Celestium's favor. As for the

>blatantly flout established doctrine

I have the big bad polluting the auroras to a strange and dark color (imagine violet-red auroras, menacing). When that came out, the other three were already fighting the big bad and starting to lose horribly.

Actual kino kek.

Also, that raises the question of how stable the country is overall. Any major religious upheavals, even those that take decades, usually come with an age of strife and instability. Naturally, they also have a deep hatred for Nero Eterna except for the Separatist faction. And that's just amicable at best. A boss later into the route also has a dialogue if you fight him with a Neronian. (Towa, Oga, Choco, Ollie, Calli, Ina)
