i wasn't trying to argue that niji graduations as a whole are or aren't impactful (i agree with your take on lulu and gundou), i was specifically wondering what it was about mayuzumi that you felt lacked impact. seems subjective because while you didn't see the point of the stream after the totsu, people who are fans of him and of blues as a group certainly were impacted by being able to witness the unit's final chapter together. he also specifically stated that because he was able to have so many conversations during his living funeral totsu, he didn't feel the need for his last stream to have any rigid direction.

It's a graduation, not a funeral. Some of them retire from being a celebrity altogether, but a lot of them continue their career outside of the group they graduated from. Nevertheless, graduation concerts are still emotional even if the idol being celebrated plans to continue her career. Because it's the end of an important chapter of her career and her journey alongside her fans, many of which are also fans of the group as a whole or of a certain generation of members which will no longer be complete following the girl's graduation.
VTubing adds a layer because chuubas are playing a character and don't tend to keep their old identity after their graduation, but it feels the same to me. This is like watching a flesh idol cry on stage with her genmates knowing she'll be making her solo debut or acting in J-dramas by the next month. She may not be leaving forever, but something people put time into following is ending and there are feelings attached to that.
