I think that the story of Sora and A-chan being classmates is probably true.
In the very first appearances of Sora talking with an off-camera A-chan, they're talking on a first-name basis. We know how tight is japanese culture with their senpai, san, and all of that.

As Hololive got bigger, A-chan got promoted and she shifted to project management and marketing.
