I got curious about how the chest straps on the maid outfit work and I may have become a little bit obsessed. I ended up with a bunch of notes that I think the people here might find funny. The three leading theories are

Maybe theyre just that, holding her top, kind of like a bra would? Though my brain want's it to wrap around the side of the chest, where we can't see it. Which would be visible in pic related, but isn't. Also Omu's illustrations have the chest straps way higher, pressing against the ribcage basically, so functionally quite different? I haven't thought of it before though.

Probably. It shouldn't be too different from commissioning any other artist to draw Nade, with the added benefit of the art matching the genuine article more closely.

Now that i think about it, it maybe just a perspective, or modesty thing? Ref sheet art makes the strap look closer to the top of her chest. In general these straps really make the booba pop out. Like a 3d effect of a subject popping out of a picture frame. Kind of like pic related. I think thats supposed to be the intention. Maybe should take the average artists interpretation from all the fanarts she has/will have.

That makes the most sense to me, since it would connect to the belt at her waist and I have reasons to suspect the reference sheet left it out. Since this was a skeb request I espect Yukijirou didn't contact Omu for details on stuff like this. Based on the skeb request, the model art appears to have been used to create the reference sheet instead of the other way around. Ultimately, I'm not sure how accurate the reference sheet is to how details like this were intended to be, not that I blame Yukijorou in any way for that.

If the neckline were stretching towards the flower ornaments to indicate a pair of clips hidden by them, this would be the clear answer. As it stands, I do think there are cross buckles underneath those flowers but I'm having a difficult time imagining how they work, especially to incorporate the horizontal strap. I think Omu was the party responsible for this part of the design and has an explanation or even a real world source that she could show, even if Nade herself doesn't.

The way it is i guess it makes it more decorative. Now the ambiguity bothers me a bit, if its supposed to be tightening the chest then it makes a whole lot of difference than if its just resting on top of it. If you're planning on drawing it.
