Outside of tournaments, VSPO's Minecraft streams feel a lot like early Hololive with CGDCT with a group of friends. I can see certain Holo fans who prefer those small scale interaction to be drawn toward those kind of streams.
On a different note, I've been checking out Korone's Twitter hashtags and comments on her clips. She's getting a lot of attention not only from FGC viewers, but also fans of popular streamers like Shaka and Donpisha who like her energy and effort toward training.
I didn't really see a lot of negative comments from Koronesuki either. A few passive-aggressive comments here and there along the lines of "Korone's having so much fun. It's probably because male streamers are just so much more talented~". Most of them appreciated her serious approach to this shilled tournament.

People keep bringing lots of unrelated shit up in order to explain the difference between EN and JP but there's one thing they keep missing.
Audience overlap.

Every male outside of Holostars that the JP girls have collabed with are in the wider "otaku" community. Otaku basically means someone ultra fanatical about any (usually niche) hobby. Whether it's Train Otaku, Weapon Otaku, Gemstone Otaku etc. etc. Passionate individuals basically.
Korone's teaming up with a bunch of FGC autists + Shaka, who's a regular game streamer with little baggage.
There's some audience overlap because of the fact that Korone has been playing a lot of Fighting Games this year. The stream focus is centered around the shared activity - so the audience never feels left out. They've been watching similar streams for a while, this one just has a few additional people who are sharing your oshi's passion and helping her improve.
Fubuki's collab is with a pretty famous voice actor --> Anime Industry influence --> Anime fan - VTuber fan overlap, which is quite huge. Mafia Kajita is also a game and anime otaku who runs a few channels with that type of content.
This is also why Marine's collabs with VAs for her game trailer had zero issues as well.
Hypno oji I admit had zero audience overlap, it just seems like one of Pekora's crazier ideas that was let through because of the whole hype behind the year of the Rabbit.
Notice how he never appeared in any other stream again.
Some JPs also collabed with EN side celebrities like Jared Leto and Robert Pattinson, once again through their shared passion and interest in Marvel Movies, and thus the interest of the audience that likes them for it.

JP Holos would never, for example, collab with someone like Jun who has zero audience overlap with them, and even has some V antis in his chat. Korone obviously wouldn't collab with some of her old NND buddies either, since they openly dissed her decision to go full dog and said she was trying to hide her ugly face under a cute avatar.

Meanwhile, on the EN side of things, we have -

Happens in both EN and JP. I know that most of the ones for Miko, Gura etc. were paid commissions, but I'm reasonably sure that Hikakin and the Muscle dude's appearances on Okayu's stream were not fan-funded.

It just seems like there's very few "celebrities" on the EN side that Holos could collab with.
The "anime youtuber" industry has pretty much died off thanks to DMCA abuse, English VAs rarely give a shit about the anime or the characters that they are voicing and just do it for the paycheck, and most of them don't stream either. Most western anime fans don't watch dubs either thanks to the sheer difference in quality, so there's no overlap there.

What western celebrity or e-celeb audience would even have some amount of overlap with the current EN VTuber watching audience in order to justify a potential collab?
