I feel like I have entered my golden age of streaming. I have been able to cultivate an audience to the point where I can play almost any of the most random weird games out there and peak at about 10 ccv minimum with no raids. My community is really becoming something that I enjoy and care about, and streaming is the biggest joy in my life.

It took about a year to get to the point, and times were often rough and I had to learn about all sorts of things to get here. But I just want to say to everyone here, dont give up. Keep on trying. I was one of the runts of my "gen" and at times had given up hope. But keep on trying. Build new skills. Meet new people. Try new things.

I don't have any experience using this myself, but you can use the Replay Buffer function in OBS to capture something that happened in the past (to the extent your system will allow) if you weren't recording in the moment. Probably useful if you're playing a game without a replay function, or if you really wanted to capture your raw reaction

I'm rigging a model currently holy fuck it feels like working on one of those tibetian rice flour paintings. I'm never gonna make fun of a rigger ever again.

Some issues I have with streaming 3 or 4x a week. It seems like it makes sense, adding scarcity makes each stream more valuable. But twitch notifs are dogshit and the majority of viewers only browse casually. I doubt the average joe even bothers to look at a schedule and just tunes in whenever they feel like it and sees you online. At least that’s how I do it at work. Wouldn’t it make more sense to stream 5x a week then? That seems like the best balance between scarcity and borderline streaming everyday. Thoughts? Need actual serious answers.

I think a good rule of thumb for streaming on twitch is that you will get higher average ccv if you stream fewer times a week. However if you stream more you will tend to get more followers every week.

I think streaming less is better if you are actually going to spend your rest days networking, doing your reps, and/or shilling yourself. If you aren't going to be doing any of those things when you aren't streaming then you might as well just stream more times a week.

That’s a pretty good point. I think the reason why lesser streams work so well is because of networking. If you go out and make friends with other streamers they’ll probably stop by because they: probably browse twitch everyday, will visit and even chat to “return the favor”, will visit because of scarcity. But no networking and doing a 3-4x schedule seems like it’ll have the opposite effect. I’m imagining this scenario:

Streaming has made me realise how socially retarded I am, and not in the “haha he’s so quirky way” but the “people clearly don’t want to be around me way”. Assuming you had no job or responsibilities and were physically/mentally able to keep it up, the ideal way to grow would be to stream 10 hours a day and then spend a few hours community building, networking, and shilling. Assuming you were at least an average streamer and were able to keep the quality of your content from sliding into the dumpster you could grow quite quickly doing this. Your CCV would be pretty bad at first due to overwhelming people with content, but it would not take long for your increased follower gain rate to make up for it.

Now of course almost nobody here could afford to do this, and actual neets that probably have the time to wouldn't be able to due to menhera. But I think the point is ideally to spend as much time as possible on streaming, but to not stream so much that you neglect all the side activities that have very good return on investment compared to only streaming.

They're just looking for somebody who likes their thing or likes a thing they want to learn. If you play multiplayer games, people will be drawn to whatever segment of the game that you fixate on the most. Do you play a certain deck in a card game or do you play a certain character in a fighting game? Traffic. If you're proficient even a little with those things, you can springboard them. One of the higher ccv League vtubers (though I don't think he'd ever consider himself one, branding aside) made an entire streaming career out of being "that guy who always plays one character no matter how the meta is"

My viewers are the 20~50-ish people I game with on the norm. It's just a matter or establishing yourself in your favorite game communities. In that way, VTubing has enhanced my NEET hikki lifestyle quite a bit. Even without having donations open.

I don't even talk sometimes. Total views are at 200~300 on average with random 1k+'s. YouTube is a lot more emphasis on concise catchy titles, I like to think. I don't use scenes, stingers, Live2D, or tracking whatsoever. Not even lip sync or tracking. Just noise detection with a 40$ vroid model.

You could say I obnoxiously spam voice commands but it's quite wholesome and entertaining playing for amusement and out of the usual standby. Mocking all the characters goes really well if you're a cute girl, like no sorry, Babi and Male I've been noticing the content can be generalized as "talks out loud/narrating thought process". Whether due to low views or unoriginality I think there's just way too much of that. The streams I've enjoyed most recently now that I'm viewing again are the very chat-intimate ones with conversation completely unrelated to the stream's content itself. Gelisor, Nemcro for example. Have you ever thought about who/what your target audience is? I'd say.. it should be what you find to be the most meaningful. Maybe there's a correlation between parasocial, loyalist-streamers, and "making friends".

If it's story-driven I try to pick something that can be completed in 20-30 hours (3-6 streams). I'm trying to have staple non-video game related streams at fixed days of the week (usually monday or friday-sat) and the rest of the schedule can be filled with that game. So it's like:

Mon: game
Tue: game
Wed: game
Thu:
Fri: other stream / zatzu
Sat: wildcard /guerilla
Sun: wildcard /guerilla


Something like that, I work a lot so I can't always have a fixed schedule.

Usually playing any game gets you a couple viewers that join for that specific game and if you want them to return give them an easy way to check when you are gonna stream it next time. It could be done with a discord invite, get them to check your twitter (if you post schedules), or just a good ol' follow shill. That's as much as you can do. I will at some point though start streaming longer JRPG's and I still have to figure out something for that.

I can barely sustain 3 streams a week due to my shifts, 4 streams a week I did for one month and it broke me because I had to cut up my sleep and switch it around to fit the schedules. It really depends on the games and the person, some games are just fun to hours into some I just quit halfway through.


Overall there's way too many variables to give a common recommendation on how to fill your schedule, so unless you know exactly what your viewerbase wants just do whatever feels most comfortable for you. Everyone who thinks there's a "best" way to do things is most likely talking out of their ass, just like me.
