What makes good written horror? You can't exactly frighten your readers with some words. Is it more about instilling a feeling of dread?

It's about capturing the sensation of dread.
Basicslly, set up an inescapable conclusion. If it's something the protagonist can cope with and get past, then change things suddenly and make things worst.
Keep snuffing out hope, as you subtly introduce new characters, elements, and settings that could potentially muddle the mixture. Do it in such a way that the reader is focused on the present threat and doesn't notice thing changing.
By the time the protagonist is truly fucked beyond belief, deliver your twist, or capitalize on your old threat with a new set of circumstances and characters to deal with. If it's a short work, this is the spot where you end it. If it's a long work, then you continue with a new threat, while keeping the other looming threat in your back pocket to occasionally reintroduce, or potentially reenter the game.

Horror is a tough genre now that everyone has consumed so much media that nothing is shocking anymore. For a horror story to be good I think it has to either mix in other genre elements or have a super unique premise/setting. You're right that the action will never be scary, suspenseful maybe but not scary. So you kind of have to focus on the vibes. Right now it seems to be popular to focus more on making the reader uncomfortable than straight up dread.

I have to agree with the anon in the last thread. This just felt disjointed even if the opening started off well after they get to town the entire thing just feels like events happening without the necessary reaction to actually make it have impact.
To compare with one of your previous fics, its kind of like the weaker ryona scenes in "Let Me Feel Your Pain" or "Brown, Black and Blue Because I Love You" where the action are described but lack the reaction to actually make them stick with the readers..
You really need to do outlining and planning before making series like this. I know you can write fast but sometimes you need to slow down and improve the events already there rather than rushing off forward into the next event in story. Though with a writing speed like yours you could honestly adopt the first draft and revise till it's good model.

I hate to be that guy, but these chapters have a lot of telling and not much showing. I'll focus on the first chapter, because I think it was the better of the two. But essentially the sequence of events is: Anon shows up -> meets Botan -> suddenly she fights a mammoth man?? You gotta try to set that up at least a little.
Like maybe when Anon first arrives in town he notices that the temperature is unseasonably cold and no one is out working the fields, which he finds a bit creepy. Then when he first sees Botan she's examining some weirdly large footprints by the side of the road. When she's walking Anon to town, he starts telling her about the place since he's so well traveled and maybe he tells her there are underground tunnels or something in the center of town and she uses that knowledge during the fight to get the mammoth to fall through the pavement and get stuck. Just some rough ideas, but you should try and drop at least a few clues throughout to tie the whole thing together. Oh, and if a mammoth demon is eating people, the guys in the inn should have at least gossiped about it a little bit.

I had an immense amount of fun with this one. I flexed some writing muscles creating some OCs. I didn't go into this chapter thinking I'd do that, but the scene I just found myself writing demanded for it, and it'll make a few scenes I have planned a lot better. Finally got to reading through this. I thought the dynamic and banter with Kiara was pretty fantastic. The smut was decent, the oral play was pretty nice, we sometimes don't get enough cunnilingus. I had a fairly grand dream about Vtubers, but since I had to wake up in a rush, I don't remember any details anymore. All I remember is this feeling of hopelessness. I can't recall whether it was the Hologirls suffering, or if they were the ones inflicting the suffering, but it was a bad dream to be in.

There is naturally a lot we can get into in regards to the negative, but even a simple statement about something positive goes a long way for some. As someone who likes to write a lot of dialogue, I don't see a problem with the length of that exchange. As long as the scene itself is interesting and you're using the conversation to move things along, or give the reader background information in an indirect way, it should be enjoyable. I see you added a little more paint to how characters converse with one another, so that was nice to see. The town itself was given a little more flavor, but I think you can still do more in that regard. I kinda feel like the speed of everything is set higher than the tone wants it to be. Like, I don't know if it makes a lot of sense, but the characters operate like they're in a rising action, but we're already in the thick of the full climax in the conflict. Formatting wise, I think you can easily combine some lines that are part of the same action, or rather a result of a phrase. For example:

I admit I'm a little disappointed that it was just some kinda bratty shadow demon, but it still played out alright. I just think the feesh has good fantasy potential. I also think we are fast approaching on having too little info on the Anon and how he feels about almost anything. The anon can be used to show how (you); a not so spectacular human bystander would feel about seeing these situations play out. I also wanted to say I think Botan talks in a way that sounds a little too stiff for her, but after the info presented in the chapter, it kinda tracks. Overall, you got some interesting ideas for magic and stuff, but maybe let yourself cook, no pun intended, for a little longer. Fantasy stories really desire that flowery presentation to get you into things that aren't possible in our world. Keep it up and let's see where this story of yours goes.
