Every new competitor is a "meme" until it isn't. Kick is far superior to YT for streaming content and YT has shown no interest in improving their streaming setup. I'm skeptical of Kick's long term success but so far it has a lot of appeals for content creators to migrate to and it pretty much is a Twitch clone so twitch users will find it easier to migrate to. And they are obviously less restrictive with content than Twitch is who will ban a vtuber in a bikini.

Depends on their content. Non-themed streams just do better on Twitch, Youtube seems to promote and be the better home to curated or planned streams. People just click on videos expecting something specific and tend to stick with that one expectation for a stream or video. Zen and by some extension her editing team seems kinda bad at doing scripted and edited content.
So in a case where a large majority of Zen's content comes from streaming and she cant simulcast, Twitch is just the better option because it becomes an opportunity cost proposition at that point. Unless she plans on overtaking her Twitch audience on Youtube, its hard to get the ball rolling and making up the difference until it actually happens.
