Yes, and that's normal, that means people are getting eyes on your stream thumbnail and are interested enough to click on it. Getting someone to last for an hour is cool and all, but the absence of those clicks would mean you're not being discovered at all.

Honestly this is a big problem for all kayfabe heavy vtubers. Like Alva look at Alva. He's not going to be such an asshole towards everyone offscreen so there's going to be a huge disconnect between his screen persona and how he talks to everyone behind the scenes which we know he's doing since he seems to have been let into the gen4 secret clubhouse judging by his frequent interactions with them. So someone took the risk of interacting with him behind the scenes to see if he wasn't just an asshole.

I think it was the voice changer. It made you legit hard to understand most of the time. Most people just don't have enough time in the day to overcome that for somebody that they don't know. At any time there are 100s of people you dont know vying for our attention, put any sort of annoyance or roadblock in the way and people just wont bother and move on to something else.

hi g-clef here, trying to get the word out in as many places as possible:

i'm putting together a collab and the idea is we'd all try and go full immersion learning mode and stick as much to possible to speaking only japanese for the duration of the stream. no penalty if you need to use english for something or other, or to explain a meaning someone doesnt know, since i want to make everyone of all japanese levels feel welcome to trying to participate. i am trying to set it up with activities that encourage lots of talking so we can practice speaking and listening, but that can also hopefully be accomplished with very little speaking/jp knowledge.

the idea is more for it to be fun and good for learning to us, rather than to be perfect watching content, but i am hoping it will at least be interesting for people who might also be learning japanese (or just to see their oshis struggling)

i am currently also investigating the possibility of having some automatic TTS and translation going on the stream that tries to pick up whatever we are saying so english only watchers can still have a semblance of fun, and make fun of us for saying really broken stuff.

Everyone has an accent, though since we're so used to our own background we filter it out and don't perceive our own accent in ourselves or those who talk like us, It's more than accent though, it's also what vocabulary we use, the pacing and tone of speech, how we culturally use and interpret certain expressions, etc.

All these factors combine to create a biased picture of the person based on how they speak (in a stereotype sense where it's unfair at an individual level but with some accuracy at a population level).

It creates these biases not just around the location where it sounds like you come from, but also around the apparent level of education and sometimes other more nuanced cultural differences.

Your voice changer was so abrasive, it almost completely removed the purely vocal cue aspect of how people normal judge others in this regard (imo).

Been explained how animating yourself is a skill many people forget about. I still prefer the changing face in png than it would be in L2D. But also I might learn new skills with this or be able to make the character more interactable.

Rigging in 3D is basically taking a bunch of pyramids and plonking them onto a 3D model like a digital voodoo doll.

Blender is more professional option.
Vroid + Unity is an easier crutch-combo to bake your model.
But if it works it works.

3D rigging for vtubing in Blender follows this general pipeline

>Adjust the armature

>Touch up the automatic weights
>Project the base body's weights to the clothes and hair
>Touch those up a bit too
>Join the clothes and hair to the body
Here it's already rigged as per the technical definition, it's just not a functional vtuber model

>Delete absolutely anything in the scene that's not the model or the armature
>Select your model, then export as VRM
>Open Unity
>Import the UniVRM Unity package
>Import your model onto the scene
>Assign any bones the autoassigner did not recognize and remove any it got wrong from the list

>Go through every blendshape
>You will have a list of every keyshape you made in blender
>Turn up the slider of the keyshape that corresponds to the blendshape you selected
>Go to the UniVRM dropdown and export
